My husband and I are looking for people to help us with our backyard. We're looking to put in a pergola and do some landscaping. I'm wondering if I can get some recommendations of people you've had good experience with - Specifically in the North Dallas - Plano/Allen/Murphy/Wylie area?

M.. There are two places landscapers in Lucas. (Go east on Parker towards Wylie. At the light turn left onto 1378 towards Seis Lagos.) One is located at Country Colors in a greenhouse located across from Seis Lagos on 1378. They are a wholesaler of flower beds, but he also sells to the public. They're the best place to get quality plants at a great price. As far as his landscaping skills, I have not used him, but I am sure he has references. I do know he and his wife are very honest people.
There is a new landscaping place that has opened up on Stinson Road, near 1378. He has many things going on around his place for you to see. Everyone that I know says he's great, his prices are reasonable. But again, I would ask for references.

I can highly recommend Hugo Mandujano. He built us a great 8' board on board fence and did landscaping and wrought iron fencing too. Price was right, reliable friendly workforce and high quality work. Call him at ###-###-####.

Our experiences in the past have not been great. We used Keane Landscaping to build a backyard patio out of rock with steps leading down to the yard and continuing around the flowerbed. It wasn't a huge job. We had unlimited problems with them completing and correcting their work. The original quote was acceptable, and they seemed attentive in the beginning. However, once the job got started, it was nearly impossible to get them on the phone, and they NEVER showed up when they were scheduled to. Not once did they actually keep an appointment to continue work after the initial project start. We regrettably called them again later to come fix some of the grout work because they knew the job and we thought it would just be easier to have them do the work - and this time I would be home while they worked. We had the same problems again AND they changed the quote halfway through the job claiming they didn't quote the entire thing the first time when I KNOW we discussed all the areas, and he took notes.
After more than a year has gone by, clearly, I'm still a little irritated by it. Please, do yourself a favor, and don't use Keane Landscaping!
I forgot to mention that I live in Sachse. I know there are different groups under the Keane umbrella, but this is the group that works out here in our area - I think they are based in Wylie. And at the same time as the original project, we were having them mow and do basic lawn maintenance as well... that also failed miserably.
