Hello W.. I have a recommendation from a neighbor who says Dr. Eric Kaplan is a great doctor. He is who I am planning to use (although he doesn't know it yet!) lol. He's in Bellflower on Artesia. My neighbor used him and said he was a fantastic doctor and she delivered at Downey (something) hospital (sorry I'm not familiar with the hospital names out here yet). I don't know if this info will help you, and it's not a personal recommendation from me, but I trust this girl (she has four kids). If you are interested, his number is ###-###-####. Good luck to you :)

Hi W.~

I have a GREAT OB/GYN. It's a doctor's group and they have three office locations, one in San Pedro, one next to Long Beach Memorial Hospital (where I'm set to deliver in 17 days!) and one location in Lakewood next to the hospital there on South Street. The practice is called Complete Women Care and the number for the Lakewood office is ###-###-####. I have seen all three doctors and they are all fabulous! I have nothing but good things to say...they delivered my girl three years ago and I ended up with a C-section and they did an unbelievable job of stitching me up that you can hardly see a scar! And they are so positive...I love going to my office visits!

Good luck!

My OBGYN is Dr. Taymour in Long Beach. He is wonderful and delivered both of my boys.

W.,
I am also in Lakewood. I actually traveled to Whittier for my OB as well as Hospital. IT WAS WORTH THE DRIVE. My OB is Dr. Grey at Bright Medical - ###-###-#### and I delivered at Whittier Presbyterian. You should really check it out. It was like staying in a nice hotel - room all to myself.
Hope that helps.

Hi W. - I also go to Complete Women Care (the LB office next to LB Memorial) and highly recommend them.
I delivered at LB Memorial and it went well. I picked LB Memorial because I felt they had the expertise and technology for any sort of problem that might arise!
I was induced and ended up with a "vacuum" delivery which went fine.
The only downside was the shared recovery rooms. I had a hard time resting with all the extra visitors, and had to keep the curtain closed a lot for privacy, which was claustrophobic. Also both of our babies cried all night. If possible, try to get a private room (or a hospital that has private rooms).
Hope this is helpful!

Dr. Mackovico-Basic - awesome!

She is very confident, competent, warm & compassionate and responsive. I always feel like I'm in great hands w/her!

She has offices in Lakewood, Long Beach & San Pedro & can deliver at various hospitals. I liked St. Mary's in LB because ALL recovery rooms are PRIVATE. It's kind of far for you, might be better to go to LB memorial. Los Alamitos does not have a neo-natal intensive care unit so if your baby needed icu - he/she would be transfered to another hospital. Just something to consider. I had a totally healthy pregnancy w/my first - no reason to think anything would happen but he did end up with a lung issue (totally fine now) and had to go to nicu for the first 5 hours.

Congrats & good luck!

I highly recommend Long Beach Memorial. They have Miller Children's Center if (god forbid) your child needs special attention during or after delivery. They have specialty doctors. The nurses and doctors are great. I personally know two nurses in the labor and delivery/nursery. I see a great doctor in LB...Dr. Manning through Health Care Partners. Good Luck!
