Hi. I am having a picnic and would like to have a recipe for an easy fruity wine punch. Having about 20 people not all will drink it but would like to have something easy to put together ahead of time with fruit. Any suggestions? I am counting on you mom's.

What can I do next?

WE make Sangria all the time. It's nice and easy! For 20, you'll probably want to double the recipe. (Maybe triple, depending upon the crowd!) Here's the recipe:

Slice wedges of citrus fruit (we use two oranges, 3 limes and 3 lemons), squeezing about half of the wedges as you put them into a jug. Sprinkle between 1/3 and 1/2 cup sugar over the fruit and stir to cover fruit. Let sit a few minutes, then add one large jug of red wine (we use a 4L jug of Carlo Rossi burgundy wine (about $14 at our PA state liquor store)). Let sit at least 24 hours before serving to let fruit flavor the wine.

One last note: if you're serving from a jug that has the pour spout at the bottom of the jug, stir the mixture well before serving, but also pour the first glass and pour back into the mixture. The first glass or two often have too much sugar flavor. Hope you enjoy your party!

I just made a sangria that went over pretty well. It called for 1 cup of lemonade frozen concentrate thawed. White wine and peach schnapps. I don't remember the measurements but I made it to taste anyways. Next time I make it, I plan on using a raspberry lemonade or something like that. I don't think I'd use the concentrate again either. I think regular refridgerated lemonade would work great. Then I cut up peaches and strawberries, put them in the freezer and threw them in when I was ready to serve. It served as ice cubes and tasted great when they thawed. Enjoy your picnic!

My sister-in-law goes to www.allrecipes.com to get her recipes for sangria and makes them all to taste rather than worry about exact measurements. Look up sangria recipes and you will find alot there. There are red wine, white wine ones. She said to make sure you read the reviews to see how other people doctored the recipe. Good luck.
