ok so i'm sitting here, working, and i see an e-mail on my work address from one of my yahoo accounts with a link that I DID NOT SEND with a link on it! went many friends and family, i did a "reply to all" and told everyone i have no clue where it's from and to NOT OPEN IT or go to this link in case of a virus. i then go into that address and nothing in the sent folder!?!?!? I was looking on yahoo to find out a number to contact to see how this got sent and if my e-mail has been tapped into.

i changed my password and changed my personal information and printed the e-mail in case i have future problems...dunno if anyone can do anything with the e-mail, but never hurts

any advice?

Sounds like a virus. I had something similiar but it was from an old email address that I didn't really use anymore. I deleted my contacts so it wouldn't happen again. Then I sent an email from my active account to notify my friends.

You have been hacked. There should be a place to click on to "Report This." Change password and don't leave account 'open' on your computer...always log off.

DON'T OPEN IT. The link is probably a virus.

We've had something like that pop up on us as well. DELETE

On the safe side, go sign into the account from the account home page and change your password

double check the yahoo address that it was sent from, there might be one letter or one number that is different than your actual email address and that could be why you dont see it in your sent mail.
Otherwise, you have been hacked or have a virus. When you run your cursor over the link it sent can does it tell you the actual url of the link?

This happened to my brother years ago. He had an AOL account and someone used his email to send out spam. They did not actually have access to his email account. There is a way to piggyback an email, kind of like reponding to all or something. Any way, an email that was sent using his email address was reported and AOL shut him down. He had to prove he was not spamming to get his account back.
I have been getting notices from a fake craiglist using my email address but it was not hacked into telling me my info needs to be updated. it is some tech way they are able to work it.

That happened to me too, for a while and I went into the Yahoo help and on there it suggested to change my password. So I did and so far nothing, know on wood! I think it has been happening to a lot of yahoo customers, just change your password and hopefully this helps you too.

Your account was hacked and you did the right thing by changing the password.

We have to change our passwords every 90 days at work and never think about our personal emails until we get hacked.
