Hi R.,
The spelling is quinceanera (with that little squiggle, called a "tilde", over the 2nd "n" - from the Spanish quince (15) and ano (year - again with the squiggle!). If you know her style well, you can give jewelry or pocketbook or other accessory, perhaps a decorative cell phone holder if you know what size phone she has. Otherwise gift cards are fine and much appreciated. Pretty much anything a 15 year old would want! You can find appropriate cards for this occasion in any large card store especially in larger towns & cities with a Latino population, otherwise you can give a regular birthday or congratulations card. Some people also give savings bonds, although they don't mature for 7 years - but it would be a nice gift for when she graduates from college at approximately age 22. She'll get a lot of money/gifts now that she can use and spend, and having her look back on it when she's an adult isn't a bad idea either.
