Hi mommies,

My son is about to turn 2 and has been in the same daycare since he was 5 months. I am starting to think about moving him to either a preschool, or a daycare that has a preschool with it (his current daycare is not a preschool and goes only up to age 3). I would like this move to be his only one until kindgergarten. Does anyone have any good recommendations for preschools or preschools/daycares in thbe Montclair, Glen Ridge, Verona, Bloomfield Ave. And the biggie: anything that is under $1000/month?

What can I do next?

Hi all,

I could not figure out where to post this question.

I am relocating to Bloomfield, NJ area in July. I am searching for the daycare for the twin girls (28 month) and would like your help if anyone who is familiar with that area can suggest a name. I was a stay-at-home till now but soon I will be working full-time. I would appreciate if anyone can please advice me on a facility.

Thanks a lot.

Hi B.,

I work for the director of Shoresh Preschool in Bloomfield. It's right on Broad Street, near Watchung. Very close to Montclair/Glen Ridge. I'm also a mommy; my little boy has been there for two years now. The school is in a temple and has some Jewish learning components, but many of the students are not Jewish. Prob. about half, in fact. It's a very small school with GREAT teacher:student ratios; everybody knows everybody else...very family-like.

I'd be happy to tell you more, and even show you around if you're interested! I don't have the tuition schedule in front of me, but it's def. well under $1000/month. You can get a peek at the web site (under construction) at: shoreshpreschool.org and the temple's at: nertamid.org

Let me know if you have any questions!

you need to find a headstart program that is either free or a low monthly cost daycare with headstart. Or you can call 311 for information on any daycares with a facility of headstarts or just a headstart that takes in small childrens up to school age years. I am pretty sure in Jersey they have one in your county or find the nearest county and apply your child. If you are not comfortable with that you can find a babysitter within your reach.

B.,

There are two facilities I can recommend to you. The first is in Verona, called executive kids. They provide lunch and have a great play area for the kids.

The other is in west orange. Its called Suburban hills. My daughter attends the school now she is 2.5. She has done great there since she began in september. She is like a little flower they have a great program.

The price of course is all dependant upon your childs status of parti time or full time.

I hope the info helps.
