let me know..
I am starting my research into preschools (they should start preschool at age 3; right?) for my daughter, being new to the area, I would like some names and/or suggestions to look into to.
I am also wanting to take her to a program this Fall (a day or two a week for an hour or two) if there is any such thing…..
I would so appreciate any advice, comment/concerns, and suggestions about any programs.
Thanks!!!!

What area ?
C. S.
some kids start preschool at 3 others start at 4.. they dont have to go to school at 3
There are some programs for kids younger than 3 - almost all of the programs require mom to stay with the child.
I did a lot of looking for activities for my daughter when I quit my job to stay home.
YOu might be interested in musical story time. They have a website.. "musicalstorytime.com"
It is a great program for toddlers. We go to the troy location on saturday mornings. There is also a rochester location.
Also we go to "play with me" - it is a good program but it is located at 1o mile and ryan.. so it would be quite a drive for you.
Check your local area churches and your school district. They generally will have some sort of pre-school classes. All three of my boys went through the school district and they are doing great. Good luck - S.
I started my Daughter in pre school so She could play with other kids, and my twin boys also went to three year old preachool, it was great for them. They had kids to play with, learned to follow directions and gave their Mom a much needed break. They are all very smart kids and I think it's because they had a head start. School is for learning and at that age it's alot of fun.
My kids went to the local public elementary. although I did look for the best preschool in our district and I drove them there. It was a Blue Ribbon School recommended by a friend.
What area are you from?
Don't assume your daughter is ready for preschool just because she is 3. My son started preschool at 3 and he wasn't ready - I pulled him out and waited until he was a little older. I would recommend two preschools: Gateway Montessori in Birmingham and the Japhet School in Madison Heights. Japhet is a preschool through 8th grade school and is very nurturing. The curriculum emphasizes character development, kindness and respect for self and others. It's a wonderful school. When you visit preschools take your daughter with you and ask her if she liked it. Good luck.
M.- where do you live?
Check out your library for programs during the week. I live in Rochester Hills and there are lots of 30-60 minute programs offered during the week.
If you are close to the Saint Clair Shores area, then their is classes you can take with your child they are seasonal an last 8 weeks usually one day a week.the class is reasonably priced.they have a website www.lakeshoreschools.org Click on Adult Education. Hope this helps.:)
