My daughter doesn't turn 3 until October, so will miss the cut off, but she is ready definitely ready to have a couple hours a couple days a week of some structured play/school time. So for this next year I would need a program that has a 2 year old program. I am fine with moving after a year, if there is a better 2 year old program somewhere. I am also fine with driving a bit....

I am looking at the Kensington School in La Grange on Kensington, at Grace Lutheran in La Grange on Ogden, and at Grand Avenue Pre School - not sure which one yet. ....and if anyone has any others - would love to hear about those too!

Would love to hear from any of you with kids there now/recently. How you like the teachers, the program, ect.

Thanks!

I have heard good things about Grand Avenue and Grace.

Hinsdale United Methodist Church has a great 2 year old program. You can send them between 1-3 mornings a week for 2 hours. So if yours is 3 early in the year and you think she can handle more, you can do it.

The director and teachers are wonderful....very warm. They give you a small sheet every day that lets you know what they did for the day. They talk about a number, letter, art for fine motor skills, then outside play or the gym for activity. They also put what book they read together and they have a little free play time. Its perfect for those active toddlers! My kids absolutely thrived there!

Highly recommed Hinsdale United Methodist!

I highly recommend Sunflower Montessori School, close to Wolf Rd and 51st St, in Western Springs. Both of my children went there (one went for three years and the other, a November baby, for four) and then started first grade in our public school. They have performed very well in school. SMS's curriculum is quite advanced, but presented in a manner that is developmentally appropriate and respectful of the child's interests and levels of ability. Google it, there is a website.

My daughter is in the 2s program at Kensington in LaGrange. We love the teachers and the program, but the cost is way too high for preschool, in my opinion. We will not be returning next year. But they will let you tour the school, so you may want to check it out if cost is not an issue.

The Downers Grove Park District offers something called "Three School" for kids who don't make the cut-off. I know it is a bit out of the way for you, but just thought I'd mention it. My son is just finishing his first year of preschool there and we have been very happy with it.

My son is "graduating" from Grand Avenue at the Highlands. The program is absolutely wonderful, as is the staff. I have never met such a wonderful group of people. My son (he is the youngest of three) has learned sooooo much more than his sisters did. My daughters both went to different preschools and did not have good experiences. I wish I had sent them to Grand Avenue. It is such a loving atmosphere. My son loves to go to school - something my girls never wanted to do in preschool. They really balance education and fun. There is outdoor play everyday - unless it rains. I highly recommend Grand Avenue.
