I have the same thing, but mine is on my upper lip...so it looks like I have a mustache...yuck. I am a 16 months postpartum and no change, but I am still breastfeeding.
Hi,
So I got the pregnancy mask when I was pregnant with my son, and a year later it hasn't gotten any better! I have huge dark brown kind of L-shapes on both of my checks, up my cheek-bone. I have been told that there is nothing I can do except buy some good cover-up (which I have) but I am wondering if anyone has had this and been able to lighten it at all?
Thanks for the responses. I actually hadn't thought about a dermatologist, so thank you! I just made an appointment for next week and they said they should be able to help with it after diagnosing the problem.

I had that and used the Mary Kay Even Complexion Essence--worked like a dream! I'll be more than happy to direct you to my website where you can read more about it if you don't have a consultant.
Hi J.! I had the same thing with pregnancy, but it went away. A few years later, I got this huge dark spot on my forehead and I'm not pregnant!
Hope this doesn't sound like a product pitch, but honestly, I wouldn't reccomend it if it didn't work for me!
Here's my routine and what I use....I've been doing this for less than 1 month, and my dark spot is about 50% lighter!
1. use a daily facial SCRUB at night (to slough off dead skin cells so new ones can regenerate over night)
2. use AVON's Luminosity Pro Brightening Serum! it has really worked!

3. about 2-3 times a week I also use the AVON ANEW CLINICAL Advanced Retexturizing Peel. It Peels away dullness and visible age damage so healthier skin cells can surface.
4. EVERY DAY I use a moisturizer with NO LESS than SPF 25 to help prevent any additional dark spots! Again, I use an AVON product, the daily revitalizing moisturizer with SPF 25. But any moisturizer with SPF 25 should do.
Again, this has been my routine, it has worked and I wouldn't reccomend it otherwise. I do sell Avon and you can order from my website or contact me and I cna order for you and deliver it to you if you live in Castro Valley, Hayward or San Leandro area.
Here's my website and good luck!! http://www.youravon.com/maryblevins
I had a horrible pregnancy mask with my 3rd pregnancy. It was so bad a woman in a store asked me "who did this to you?"- she thought they were bruises. It took about 3 years for it to fade pretty much to nothing, I could still see some very faint marks in a couple spots.
I was told by my doctor that it would come back in future pregnancies, and I wanted to tell you in my experience that isn't true. I've had 2 more children since, it did not come back with #4. It did come back a little bit with #5, but no where near as bad as it was with #3.
Also, stay out of the sun or use a very high SPF sunblock until it fades.
I had five o'clock shadow that was terrible after I got pregnant and delivered. The only thing that helped me was when I got my hormones evened out.
A good dermatologist should be able to given you a prescription to "bleach" your skin. I used one years ago as I had the pregnancy mask from taking the pill. It worked wonders.

I got the pregnancy mask when I was pregnant a year and half ago and yes you can lighten it. I got some cream from Avon called Banishing Cream. It helps even out your skin tone and lighten discolorations. I have seen alot of improvement in the last 3 or 4 months I have been using it.
My dermatologist prescribed Tri-Luma and it was awesome! It is 3 diff't ingredients that target your spots. I had a "thumbprint" in the middle of my forehead and it is gone. I will warn you to ask for the brand name though, because I later used a generic version and it did nothing. Good luck!
