Has anyone tried the "potty trained in 1 to 3 days" before? If so, is it worth the $38 they ask for?

What can I do next?

The book I had was paperback and a shower gift, and I think the same book. But, it was worth it to me. The main thing is to make sure the kid is ready and can have dry diapers for an extended time-even right upon waking from naps, Anyway, we did all it said- went and bought all kinds of drinks, treats, snacks, training pants, plastic pants, thin big-boy undies, potty chair, etc... We made it an EVENT. A job. It is possible to do in a short amount of time. You just have to be committed all the way. No turning back-and dont use pull ups. Except at bedtime. Even then- put the big-boy undies on over them to help him stay on the right track. I didnt talk on the phone and if we went outside we took the potty. We stayed home and focused on it for 3 days. After that-we never went back in diapers. There were accidents from time to time of course. But, he knew he no longer pottied in diapers anymore. He loved aiming at a cheerio later on! But, the main thing is-the trainer and all caregivers have to be ready and be consistent as all get out. Kinda like- you don't let your kitten or puppy potty on the floor sometimes-and sometimes not. You just say diapers are gone. Or they will be confused. Good luck! I liked the book.

IDK about that book, but I trained my son over a 3 day weekend. I just decided to stay home all weekend & put big boy undies on him. Be prepared for some accidents! I would take my son to the potty about every 10 minutes & set the timer to make sure I didnt go over. They get very excited when they actually do go & start wanting to go in the big potty (some kids like the rings for big potty better than baby training toilet). If he did go...I might let him go 15 minutes before sitting him on it again. He was my first & my husband may have been out of town that weekend...dont know if I could be that patient now...LOL! GOOD LUCK!

I doubt that there will be alot of people who agree with me but I say do not buy the book, they are a waste of money. I bought one and it really was worthless. Don't stress yourself out over it, when he is ready he will do it. I tried and tried with my oldest ( she is 4 now ) because I really wanted her out of diapers because there is only a 15 month difference between her and her baby sister. I think I stressed myself out way too much!! ;) One day she woke up ( she was 3 ) and said that she wanted to use the potty and she has been in panties ever since! If you think it will help you with your son then definitely do it but don't stress yourself out. They know when they are ready!! Good luck!

I have used "Potty Training in less than 24 hours" by Foxx and Azrin on six of my kids. While it took more than 24 hours, it took about 3 days. What is special about this book is that it tells you to reward for dry pants. Instead of just praising when they go on the potty you praise for dry pants. Once you've decided to train, there are 3 criteria to determine if your child is ready, you check their pants every ten minutes and give them an m&m or skittle for staying dry. I don't have time to go in detail but it works. Also you "practice" when they make a mistake. You say, "You're playing legos and you feel pee-pee coming, what are you going to do?" and you both run to the potty and practice going real quick. You do this from different spots all over the house. The book really had some ingenious ideas...all positive.

No, but in my limited experience (two kids) I would suggest that you make sure it has a money back guarantee : )
Kids can't read, but they sure do know what they want - and don't want -- to do.

No I haven't but you shouldn't really need a book. Boys are really simple just get some fruit loops or Cheerios, and let them have target practice. they love it, it becomes a game so they want to go to the bathroom.
