My son is 28 months old and I want to get him out of diapers. His daycare said I need to start it and then they help out. I was thinking of doing it in 3 days. Is this possible? Also his daycare said they will put a diaper on him at nap time. Wouldn't this confuse him? Shouldn't the diapers be gone all together? He wakes up sometimes with a wet diaper and understands pee pee and poopy. hee is not scared of the potty and sometimes goes but I really want to be serious and get him out of diapers. I am tired of the rashes.

What can I do next?

A diaper at naptime and nighttime ONLY is ok. Every other time it needs to be cloth trainers or underwear. I don't know if you can do it in 3 days but for sure as long as you stick to a routine you can do it.
Remind him every 1 hour or so to go to the bathroom. Take him w/ you when you go pee. Limit liquids and hour or two before bedtime. When going out take lots of clothing just in case of accidents.

I think you can give it a try but be prepared that he might not be ready yet. You can try, but if it doesn't go well, wait and try again in another 2 months or so. I tried with both of mine at 2 1/2 years and that was too young for them. I started on a long weekend and left them naked from the bottom down. I would set a timer and every 15-20 minutes I would tell them it is time to sit on the potty. If they said they didn't have to go, I told them it was "to practice" and made them sit anyway. I still put diapers on them for nap time and night time. I didn't take away diapers from sleeping times until they were waking up 75-90% of the time dry. HTH and Good luck!

I am also training my son. He is 25 months and so far has pee-peed and pooped in the potty. I have him in briefs during the day and ask him every 10 minutes if he has to pee pee, sometimes even if he says no I take him anyway and he ends up going. I make it super fun and exciting and each time he goes in the potty we celebrate. He also gets a kick out of flushing the toilet. He has had a few accidents, but I wasn't expecting a smooth transition. He still wears his diaper for nap and bedtime though.
