I would give mine a sucker every time he would go on the potty.
I have a 15 month old daughter and she is ready for potty training. I have no idea how or where to begin. It was easy with the twins because I didn't have to do it, my husband taught them and now its my turn and I am totally lost. Can anyone help?

With my daughter, I bought a potty that has a sensor on it. When she uses it, a "royal" sound is made. I can't remember the brand, but the name had something to do with a throne. It also came with a book to read while she's sitting there. Also, I don't want to call it a bribe, but I had a treasure chest like the doctors office. Just dollar store items or lollipops for a prize. The big girl potty is a huge step. My daughter is 7 now so I'm sure there are some great new potty's out there. Good luck!
A couple websites I found recently:
http://www.pottytrainingconcepts.com/
http://www.pottypatty.com/
I bought training pants from Potty Scotty (the site for boys) and they seem to work all right. Fast shipping and good quality, and machine wash/dry. The first website has a list of children's books and I checked a few out from our library. Joanna Cole has a pretty straightforward kid's book with some helpful tips on the very last page for the parents.
Well, I would start with a little potty by the big one and everytime you go, take her. Weather she goes or not at first does not matter get her use to sitting on it.
Talk to her as you are doing this and tell her this is how big girls go potty.
A few weeks go by and bring it out to the room she and you are in. Also at this time put her in thick cloth panties. Put plastic over them.
I never liked the pull ups the child will just see them as a diaper. If you watch her you will see after a couple of weeks of this that she getting the hang of it. As she does move the potty back to the bathroom she will have more control of her bladder and be able to hold on till she gets to the potty. There will be bobo's and she might not like cold wet pants but that is good. Let her know that is part of growing up to be a big girl. You and her will be training each other and bonding at the same time. It will be great.
I just potty trained my 20 mo old daughter. We started with 2 little potty's (one upstairs and the other downstairs) available to her, and we let her run around naked for a couple of days. I gave her lots to drink and we made trips to the bathroom multiple times an hour. We made a huge deal of it when she went on the potty and gave her some m&m's. In the first couple of days she went on the floor a lot but it only took a day or two for her to figure out when she had to go. A couple of days later we started putting "big girl panties" and then a couple of days later pants or shorts. It took her a while to understand that she has to pull them down in order to go potty, but she's got it now! Good Luck!
Hi K., That is so awesome how she is ready to be potty trained. My best suggestion would be to put panties on her. Every so often ask her if she has to pee and put her on the toliet. Pull ups work but after awhile some children think that its ok to pee in their pants. When we started putting my son in his underwear we got potty trained alot faster because he didnt want wet clothes on. I hope this helps some. My daughter is 18 months old and not quite ready to be potty trained. Before bath time though i put her on the toliet so she can pee if she has too before getting in the tub. She hasn't yet but she knows thats what its for. Good luck.

Get a potty chair and start sitting your child on it without a diaper whenever you go to the restroom, especially when they first wake up (including naps) and before they go down.
