How do you do it?? How do you keep the bees and wasps away from the pool area?
We have a 15x4 foot above ground pool. It's not huge, but keeps us cool during the hot weather. We have our decks and around the house sprayed but it does nothing to help with the bees and wasps around the water. I am highly allergic and am so stressed when I am out there it's not even fun. Any tips, ideas or recommendations are welcome!

What can I do next?

Get wasp traps and set them at four corners of your pool, but well away from your pool. Both bees and wasps are there after the water. If you have water away from your pool they may prefer the water away from the pool.

Good luck to you and yours.

When I got to TN to see my husbands grandfather. We have a ton of those red and purple wasps. I make traps with 2 liter bottles. Basically cut the top right above the label, filp it over, tape it up.. add sugery substance in it, set it out close but not in a traveled area. They will go in, but can not get back out .

Wasps are mean, but don't harm the bees. Bees are necessary, and they don't go out of their way to attack you like wasps do. No need to be frightened of a bee.

For wasps, get a wasp trap and hang it near the pool.

Get your neighbor to get a pool, pretty much the only way. There just aren't enough water sources this time of year so they all go to the pools.

When wasps and bees are around your pool they are not hungry, they are thirsty. That is why traps and bait don't work. I have had friends do overkill with the traps and they still gets bees and wasps in their pool because they are after the water.

I get bees, all types, but no wasps. The only reason is that we watch out for nests as does my neighbors. Because of this we are not the closest pool so they leave us alone. Now we have several gardens in our yard so we get bees. Guess they want an after dinner drink.

I'm also allergic & have a pool.

I make traps out of old soda cans & bottles the way the other poster said. I also buy those citronella candles & put them on the table where I usually hang at around.

Knock on some wood...I haven't been stung since I was in the 8th grade??
