Do I have to bath my kids as soon as we get home from swimming leasons or can it wait until that night? We rinse off in the shower that's provided right as you get out of the pool but is that enough? I know there are nasty chemicals in pool water.

I think chlorine is the biggest issue, and likely there is chlorine in the water at the shower too since most municipalities use chlorine (not as much as in the pool, of course). In a typical hot shower a person "drinks" 6-8 glasses of chlorinated water through their pores. If it were me I would rinse off quickly in cool water (your pores don't open up that much in cool water, thus you "drink" less chlorine/fluoride/whatever-else-they-throw-in), and I'd make sure my kids had good probiotics as a regular routine, as well as a natural moisturizer like pure shea butter or something. The probiotics are important because the chlorine that infiltrates your body when you swim/shower will work as a bacteria killer within your body, and healthy gut flora are essential for immune health and proper digestion and nutrient absorbability. When you have poor gut flora you invite ear infections and allergies, bloating and indigestion.

You can get a simple filter for your shower head to remove chlorine, unless you have well water and in that case you're probably fine.

So long as you're rinsing, of course, you can wait. It is totally up to you when they bathe obviously, you can have them bathe the moment you get home or wait 'til later. Whatever you feel is best to clean off their skin. But make sure when they bathe that they moisturize each night or their skin will get very dry and flake. Hair should be conditioned after shampooing. Both the sun and chemicals in the pool are harsh on the hair as well as the skin.

I dont know about the bathing thing, but I wanted to share with you that I recently read a study that showed children who were in public pools frequently prior to age 7 had a significantly higher chance of developing severe asthma- they suspected that the high level of chemicles had a negative effect on the developing lungs. Stinks, I miss taking my child to swim lessons- but he is already at risk with allergies so I stopped all together :(
