We currently have a salt system for our pool that is not working at all. We have a Zodiac right now and are planning to replace it. Does anyone have a salt system that they are happy with? Would you recommend yours and why? Thanks so much!

We are considering building a pool right now and several builders are not even giving the option of salt due to issues. Supposedly the salt eats away at the decking.

Not an issue for us because we prefer clorine. Just my two cents worth.

We also have the Jandy AquaPure Salt System (for nearly four years now) with no problems. We have a service contract with Riverbend Sandler where they come out and clean/check over the entire pool system twice a year. We prefer the salt over the chlorine because it is not so drying or harsh on your skin, hair and swim suits. Sometimes after a really heavy rain my husband has to give it a boost but other than that, it's been great. Good luck!

We have a Jandy AquaPure Salt System that Claffey installed when they built our pool. We have had no problems with it and the unit is very easy to clean.

We have Aqua Rite by Hayward. We love the system and have had it since 6/2002 when the pool was built.
We replaced the cell one time and that was in 7/2006 and it was $600 for a cell and just last week had to have the panel board inside the control box replaced and it was $350 including service call, parts and labor.

All of our pool equipment is made by Jandy. We have had it 4 years and haven't had any problems at all with it. Zodiac Pools (Keller location) put our pool in and they did the equipment for us so I'd definitely recommend them if you need someone to do that work for you!

Good luck!
