Try going to meetup.com and searching for different mom groups near you. You'll find there are tons of them!
Are there any playgroups for stay-at-home moms in Frisco that are recommended? My son is 6 months old and I'd like for him to play with kids near that age. I'd also like to hang out with other moms since I'm a first-time mom. Groups that are free are preferable but nominal cost is ok too. Thanks!
Thanks so much for all the advice! I will look into these suggestions.

There is a great group of moms called MOPS INTERNATIONAL. They have meetings where the children have care and activities while the moms get together for crafts and speakers. Most of the time these moms get together for other activities during the week that they plan on their own. I am a mentor mom for one of these groups. I am at FBC Plano, on 15th st., but I have copied some of the other places that meet around you. We do have several in our group from Frisco too though. Our group is a fairly small group, in the 20s, but some groups are 60 to 100.

We just joined the YMCA on Main Street. For $60/month, I get to work out, and my son gets to play with lots of other kids in the play area. If you like classes, you will meet the moms that regularly attend, and your son will get used to having the same kids in the care area. I work part-time, and sometimes I take my laptop up there, and get some work done after my workout!
Some ladies in our subdivision started one just for our neighborhood and I LOVE it. You don't have to drive anywhere and you're close enough to borrow pans, coupons, and baby items from each other! Get out and walk your neighborhood and if you see other mom's- approach them and invite them to a playgroup of your own. Then as everyone starts networking, your playgroup will be up and running in no time! It's been such a blessing to me to make new friends that are so close by! But no matter what, reach out (like you are) and go find things to do to encourage you in being a stay-at-home mom! We all need it!
We live in Frisco as well. Meetup.com is a great place to find stay at home mom groups and play group. You can search by area and interest (i.e., play group, cooking, etc). Most groups are closed to the public so you answer a few questions and become a member (I guess to keep lurkers out) -- they usually have lots of outings planned -- so pick a couple and see which group you hit it off with. Mission Impossible Moms is a good one -- if you see that one.
Also, you can check MOMS Club International online, and they will find you a chapter near you. There are 4-5 in Frisco depending on which neighborhood you live in. That is a great way to meet other moms close to you as well. Hope that helps. I am the mom of 3 and have tried lots of groups in our area! Good Luck, L.
I would head off to the frisco mall play area. You will meet lots of parents and make new friends naturally. Also try Wiggles on Lebanon and Preston only 5 dollars. Its fun too.
Try MeetUp.com, search for Mom's Groups in your zip code
Try www.meetup.com I suggest try attending as many as you can find and see from there which one you feel most comfortable with. My son and I were in three groups until we finally settled with one that best works for us.
Hi S.,
Check out www.momsclub.org to find a chapter in your area. They have playgroups, mom's night out, field trips, etc.
