Does anybody know of any baby-friendly playgrounds in/near Westborough? I have a nine-month old little girl.

What can I do next?

There's not much in Westboro, which has been a problem for us for years! (My son is almost 20 so we've been lamenting this issue for ages!)

There is a small playground at the new Green Thumb greenhouse center on Route 9 between Lyman St and Route 135 - it's on the westbound side. There is a tiny petting zoo with a couple of goats and a donkey - might be your daughter's speed!

There is an animal area at Harvey's Garden Center on Route 135 East, off the rotary about 1/2 mile going toward Hopkinton from the intersection of Routes 30 and 135. There are quite a few animals in the fenced area, a few bunnies in the area near the parking lot, a large model train area, and many ducks/swans in the pond. You can feed the ducks from the covered bridge - when the weather gets warmer, you can see catfish come up from the bottom to get what the ducks miss! You can purchase food in small bags in the garden center. There are different foods for the ducks vs the other animals - I think the main difference is that the duck food floats, which is important. There are some exotic fowl too - they can be fed thru a pipe that leads from outside the fence into the caged area. Your child is obviously too young to feed them but might enjoy it while you do.

There is a playground in Northboro at the intersection of Routes 20 and 135 with parking on the side street.

Good luck and enjoy the warm weather with your little one!

There's a brand new playground at Ellsworth McAfee park on 135 in Northborough on the Westborough line. There are infant swings and a few smaller ride-ons for little ones. Most of it is geared towards climbers age 5+. My 3-yr-old does surprisingly well though.

Also, Harold Fay Memorial Park in Southborough has a separate fenced in small kid play area, covered tables, etc.

There is a little known playground that is open to the public when classes are not using it at Temple B'nai Shalom on Route 30 next to Hastings Elementary, across from Willows. Drive to the back of the parking lot and it's on the side of the building. The sign says open to public. No swings, but a decent climber and other toys.

Roger Road by the Senior Center has a playground and fields. It's hidden. NOt sure if there are infant swings, but they have a little kid climber. Not many people know about this one either.

You can use many of the elementary schools playgrounds when school is not in session too.

Also, EMC Park on route 85 in Hopkinton (across from the High School) is PHENOMENAL!!! Fenced in toddler playground with 4 infant swings..parents can walk onto climber and it's shady so it's great for a hot day. Worth the ride...route 9 to 85 or take 135 all the way to 85 at the center of town.

I love Dean Park in Shrewsbury. It has lots of baby swings, a sandbox, and climbing structures for different ages. The park itself is great - lots fields and roads for walking. The playground itself is fenced in with soft wood chips.
Enjoy!
