I am not new to the area but it seems as you get older your friends change. Some move way, some are still into the club seen ect ect ect. My husband and I would love to get together with another couple to have poker night or go play pool , hang out and watch movies. This may end up sounding like one of those cheesey personal ads but it really isnt. We just want adult friends. Any suggestions or other couples with the same problem????

Hey Liz, so good to see someone from so near by!! Well, I am somewhat new to the area, and you are so right. My husband and I moved here from Texas 2 years ago, and have found it a little hard to make new friends considering we are both done with college and out in the workforce, it seems the only people you befriend are your coworkers, and even at that you can't let your guard completely down with coworkers you know what i mean you have to always keep your friends close and your enemies closer, LOL, so I get you! I live in Sandy and there is an international women's social organziation, we, myself, my daycare provider, and another gal, with some 3 other gals are trying to start up a new chapter in our area. There are currently several of these groups around the portland metro area. Anyhow, we get together once a month, just us girls and do a margarita night, or a game night at eachother's houses, or tea, or cookie swaps and so on and so forth. it's pretty much a day of the month in which we get "girl" time to just meet each other and chit chat, and contribute to the communinity from time to time. It's a lot of fun!! aside from the once a month girl meeting/ get together, we have 1 monthly social, the monthly socials include our husbands and kids sometimes, and we do things like family picnics, BBQS, zoo trips, trips to the pumpkin patches, and just neat miscellaneous stuff like that...really it's just fun and you get to meet and make several new "grown up" friends. We just met last night at La Bamba for Margarita Night and it was a blast, if you would like to know more on getting together with our little social group of gals, shoot me a personal message and i'll give you more details, and my number so we can be in touch, I think this is what you are looking for considering it's not a necessarily a Mommy play group for kids you know. WE HAVE A POOL TABLE AND ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO COME OVER.. BUT WHEN YOU HAVE A FAMILY YOU MUST BE NERDS!! cuz no one likes to come over.
We also love poker nights..however I must warn you.. my husband likes to play for money.. he thinks he is going to the world series some day!! (like most men! ha lol)
