Plane Travel Ideas for Good Apps

We're traveling to Canada with our 2.5 year old and 17 month old. I read an idea in Parent Magazine about My Baby Einstein app for iPhone. It got terrible reviews so I didn't download. Any other apps you Moms use for kids? The only app I have is an ABC Dr. Seuss, and I have only used it once at the doctor's when my daughter was injured and didn't want the doctor to touch her. It totally locked her in and she didn't even pay attention to the examine. We have flown before so I have other tricks up my sleeve but I thought this might be a good addition. If you have other sneaky ideas, I would love to hear about them. Thanks!

All the apps from Duck Duck Moose are great and very interactive (specifically I have Old Mac, Wheels on the Bus, and Itsy Bitsy). My son is 20 months and he can play with them all. I also downloaded a virtual fish tank where you can feed the fish and knock and the glass and such. It's pretty fun. A game called Peekaboo Barn is really fun. It has about 10 or 12 animals, there is a free version you could check out and then buy it if you like it.
There's so many kids apps you can download for free. I also purchased some Sesame Street episodes (through iTunes) and put them on my phone to watch.

Good luck with the flight!

Try Peekaboo Barn (for your toddler). It's an interactive touch game for animals in a barn. A gem!

My son is 20 months and has been playing with it for several months and still loves it.

Parents Magazine has a very good app for toddlers (educational). Ballon animals (from Ideo) lets the kids blow into the iPhone and make cute animals. There is also an animals matching game (like a memory game) that my daughter loves.

Monkey preschool lunchbox and i also got a Thomas the train app (my son is in love) Both of them are similar, they both have puzzles and matching. The Thomas one has a maze. The monkey one has counting, what item starts with this letter, which picture is different, what items are this color, plus you get to pick a "sticker" after so many activities. The monkey one, you get more for your money (.99). Just do some searching of their favorite tv show, there is more then likely an app for that..lol. Also just search under games in the family or kids section. apps saved my life. Just got through traveling with my 2.5 yr old by myself by plane for a 3 hr flight. If things start getting hectic just sit back and laugh!
