As far as I am aware the placenta implantation is random. My first one was in back and this time it's in front and low. This little guy is so active that I feel him all over.
With my son (almost 3) my placenta was in front. So it went him, my placenta and the my belly. Since all that was there I really didn't feel him move that much unless it was low or high. Which also meant that other people couldn't feel him move. My question is, if I get pregnant again will it be the same way or was that a "fluke". I know that no one can tell me for sure but I just thought I would ask...
Thanks!

Hi K.,
I had the same thing with my first child who was 3 in April. With my secodn now 18 months it wasn't the same. I know it can be kind of scary because they tell you to come in to the doctor if you don't feel the baby move so I know what you went through. So I guess my point is, it doesn't mean that will happen again. I wouldn't worry and just see what happens. Both my pregnancies and labor and delivery were very different with each child! Good Luck!
Hey K.,
My placenta was in the front for my third baby. It was not for the first two so it might not happen again if you have another baby. Every pregnancy is usually different.
I was in a little bit of a panic when they had a hard time finding the heart beat and I did not feel her when I was in the early stages of my pregnancy. Then when they did the ultra sound they found out the placenta was in the front... So I hear how this could be a frustrating issue.
Take Care, and Good Luck! M.
Placenta placement is a fluke. It will attache where it wants to attach. Your ob/gyn can do a scan to see where it attaches and let you know. Wishing you a happy/healthy pregnancy.
I had an anterior placenta with my second, but not with my first. Each pregnancy is different. It's a matter of where the egg implants. I found it difficult in the beginning as I had miscarried between my two children. With an anterior placenta is was a few weeks longer before we could hear the heartbeat because of the thickness of the placenta. Talk about nerve racking. I wouldn't necessarily expect your next pregnancy to be the same.
every pregnancy is different.
wont be the same...
where ever the fertilized egg lands in the uterus it starts to grow...
so it could be anywhere..
I think every pregnancy is different as far as where the placenta ends up. Mine was in the front as well. I was concerned as to why I wasn't feeling her kick and at my ultrasound they checked where the placenta was and told me it was in front and that was why. However, once I got further along and she started to grow I could feel her kick just fine!!
All of mine were in front. I felt movement more and more with each kid. Maybe everything was worn out by the third. Hopefully, you will be the same and feel more with the next child.
I specifically recall learning in our Childbirth Education that the placenta will never attach at the same place. Don't remember why or the specifics but i was interested as I too had the front attachment and didn't feel the baby till much later. Thats all i know!
I think it's more of a fluke. With my first, my placenta was in the front. With my second, it was in the back. I definitely felt him move a lot more, and I felt him sooner than I did with my daughter.
