When we got our wireless desktop a year ago and also a small macbook we bought at Office Depot (or was it Frye's?) on sale an HPphotosmartC4780.

I just couldn't get it to scan so when I went for the tutorial (one to one) at the Stanford store I brought both the big computer and the printer. He showed me how to override the HP scan and use"image capture" on my Mac. It makes such great copies of old photos (from when I was a child and my parents used an old Kodak box camera during the depression in the 30s. The digital scanned phootos on iphoto are better than the originals!!

Good luck and get help to set this up. I signed up for a year of one to one when we got the new mac. It has been well worth it. They are so helpful and eager to teach and I am getting braver at trying things out. I am writing my autobiography on Pages and using Image Capture to insert photos. Such fun!!
