Try NON-ACETONE nail polish remover or Goof-Off. It will remove the marker but not the original paint.
Hello Mommies,
What is a good way to clean permanent mark off appliances?
Thank you all for the advices.
A.
Thank you Mama(s) for all your great ideas!!!
Try NON-ACETONE nail polish remover or Goof-Off. It will remove the marker but not the original paint.
Hi A., I've have found that lighter fluid works for many things. The old kind that you put in lighters not propane. Just put a little on a cloth or even a paper towel & rub, it will come right off then just clean as ussual. The lighter fluid will evaporate.
It is also great for getting gum out. It just melts it away in hair, carpet, clothes & car seat. It will take blcak marks off tile & vinyl & carpet as well.
It's great stuff. Good luck.
Goof off os the best thing and it will remove marker, crayon, pen marks and many other things. You have to be careful with it because it is strong. Put a small amount on a rag and wipe off marks, apply more as needed...you can find these at any hardware store such as home depot, Lowes and possibly walmart... I completely understand this because I have a 2 year old daughter that likes to do artwork on EVERYTHING...Good luck!

Solumel can get it off...plus its safe - no chemicals or toxins!!!
Good luck!!
use skin so soft from Avon. It works wonders!! I can email you a list of over 100 uses if you'd like. just let me know www.youravon.com/suzannewebb
Try Goo Gone and a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. I have had very good luck with both of these on difficult to remove marks.
either rubbing alcohol, or a Magic Eraser. both can work wonders.
Try Alcohol or Hairspray.
Lemon extract really does work! I have had to use it on plenty of hard surfaces.
This sounds really weird....but try a "Dry erase marker"....just write OVER the permanant marker, then wipe off. It has worked for me in the past.
havent tried it but I hear magic erasers will do it!
My son got Sharpie markings on our stainless steel fridge. Magic Eraser took it right off with no scratches.
Aerosol hairspray works great! But....it must be aerosol, not the pump. Good luck:
Magic Eraser IS good....BUT....read the instructions on what you CAN use it on....nothing dark, as an example.
The BEST way to remove marker ink is alcohol or PLAIN nail polish remover, make sure it does NOT contain ACETONE. That could possibly harm the finish of your appliance, even hair spray works (aerosol type).
Good luck!!
Believe it or not WD-40 will remove permanent marker, I'm not sure if it will harm your appliances. I don't think so though, we used it to take tar off of my husbands new truck and it didn't harm his paint at all.
Hi A.- the magic eraser sponges have gotten almost every permanent marker mark off our TV and coffee table that my 4yr old drew on this year. Give one a try!
Purell (the hand sanitizer) has taken Sharpie marker off of kitchen cabinets, carpet, kitchen table, clothes and mirror. Love the stuff! It works great for ink stains, blood stains, etc. too!
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, will wipe it rite off. You can buy them at Walmart, dollar stores, or the grocery store. They are lifesavers!
Magic eraser, baby oil, nail polish remover, gasoline, paint thinner, and/or rubbing alcohol.
Hello A.,
I would try Solumel. I just used it to take pen markings off my door. It worked great - didn't chip the paint or leave any showings of being rubbed!! Good Luck!
Rubbing alcohol. I've gotten lots of permanant marker off with rubbing alcohol.
I would try Magic Eraser first; the original one is the best.
I haven't had the experience with appliances, but that liquid hand sanitizer got a "sharpie" marker mark off of my wooden coffee table.
If the magic eraser doesn't work, you can try Goof Off. Just be careful with it, as it takes of everything if you use too much! Just a couple quick swipes. I usually even rinse things off with water afterward so it won't continue soaking into whatever it is I'm cleaning.
