Zap zone Utica mi it's new they have been open since school started. Or have a pool party at the warren or macomb pool.
THis may sound strange but I would like some new ideas. we have done the CEC thing and the bowling thing. I want something new and exciting for my sons 4th birthday. Ideas I need some. We may stay at home bc we own our own bounce house company where we rent them out.BUT I just want something different... Thanks
So I guess I need to make myself clear. I have more than one child. This child has yet to go outside of our home
For a birthday party. I always do big birthday parties. They are my kids. I didn't ask for a.lecture on how big a party should or should not be. I know they never get sick of bounce houses. I was hoping to get some unique ideas. Thank you to those that gave positive input.

OMG really. You have a bounce company and don't want to do that? Put up a bunch of them and let the kids go to town. Snocones, games, races, etc. You may feel like it is same old but your son and his friends won't. Don't over think it just have a great day =0)
Our daughters pony party was a big hit at 4 years old. I have also been to a petting zoo party for a 5 year old. They had several exotic animals and those who wanted to were able to hold snakes.
My 4-year-old nephew had a party at Home Depot. They had a choice of making several different things. At his party, they made little helicopters. There were more dads than moms that showed up this time.
Make a little fair in your backyard w/little booths, games etc. Serve cotton candy, corndogs, big pretzels etc.
An aquarium
Roller skating rink
How about renting a small apartment complex clubhouse & have a cowboy "round up"? You can make a little town out of cardboard walls, paint like a ghost town complete w/a little store & hotel. The kids can dress up in their cowboy boots, hats etc.
You could have it at a park & borrow several big wheel toys for the kids to ride, borrow big cars/jeeps to ride in. Do a 3 legged race, horseshoe toss but w/bean bags etc
Mini golf
I'm having my little guy's (he's turning 3) at a Children's Museum. It offers lots of different exhibits for the kids that are all "hands-on," I'm looking forward to getting pictures at the dinosaur dig and in the costume room where they can try on all sorts of "costumes" aka uniforms and real clothing: police officer, firefighter, etc. There's a real bus there for them to "drive" We're doing pizza and a cupcake cake outside on the picnic tables for the party, I didn't rent anything from the museum, and I limited it to 5 children total.
We had big blow-outs with bounce houses the first two years courtesy of my sister, I wanted small and simple, she wanted extravaganzas and took charge (we're living with her), and this year I stuck to my guns about wanting it low key and easy and this is.
I think a bounce house is the greatest! As you well know, people PAY to have them at parties! Have you done this yet? You did CEC and bowling, and he's turning 4... doing the math... OMG you have the perfect party in your own back yard! : ) Actually my friend did a bounce house 2 years in a row and the kids loved having the opportunity again.
I do not understand the hoopla of big birthdays for each year - milestones get big bashes but not every one - again my opinion. However, in my experience bounce houses have always been a big hit - we have attendend MANY parties at "Pump it Up" and they have been a blast. I enjoy simple birthday parties at home like cook outs/bbq's and additional things like a pool or bounce houses are great. I think there are many things you can do to not go overboard and still make it special such as decorating cupcakes or t-shirts or having someone make one of thoses pictures on a board with the face cut out for pictures and such. I think if you come up with a fun theme and stick to it with your activities and mild decor you will have a happy and enjoyable party.
We've been to birthday parties at those paint your own pottery places, a local farm, at Minute Maid Park (Houston Astros), Cowboys Stadium, at a local resort pool party, and at the zoo. You can also do some great parties at home - we've been to a pirate buried treasure party (teams had different maps and got to dig up their own treasure boxes), an Olympic games party (there were different stations of activities and games and everyone got a gold, silver or bronze medal at the end), a fireman's party (the kids had to do an obstacle course and save their stuffed animal from a tree) and a kids 80's party.
Last year we had my son's party at a local farm that has a very small petting zoo. Each child got a cowboy hat and a bandana and they had pony rides, fed the farm animals etc. It was a huge hit and no one in his class has done something similar.
As everyone said - and you more than anyone probably know - bounce houses are always a huge hit with that age group, but I agree that it can get old as it seems that so many kids are doing them.
Happy birthday to your little one!
Check out Cirqueamongus.com, they are in Livonia....I just had my sons 6th birthday there and it was perfect. I too was looking for something other than CEC and since its in March we can't do an outside party so we are limited. We had ages 2-12 and every single one of them had a blast and are still talking about it...their parents are too!
Good luck and have fun!
So did he bowl at 2 and go to CEC at 3, or vice versa?
Are you serious? Was this an April Fool's Day question?
What about cake and ice cream at home, with balloons, pin the tail on the donkey and some relay races? THAT would be "new"... lol
