Just wondering if anyone has experienced pain in the lower abdominal area when you are ovulating. It just seems extra sore.

What can I do next?

Every month for the last 30 years, like clock work. Should I need to get pregnant I know when to do it. Many women aren't in tune enough with their bodies to know what this is and some just don't feel it. Be glad you know what it is. I've seen a video on ovulation and no wonder it hurts, that little egg is squeezing out of the fallopian tube and it looks like it's going to burst.

It is very common. Many women get cysts on their ovaries once a month. My friend and I both get them and they go away within a few days. You just have to be careful during that time.

I have felt this for years. Although painful, it's a nice reminder that my body is in sinc! I don't have regular periods, so this lets me know when I have one on the way. I haven't really found anything to alleviate the ache though.

yes, and it is called 'middlesmirts'(sounds like that). I always would experience a burning pinching sensation when I'd move or sit a certain way, and I'd know I was ovulating. From what I hear it happens to alot of women

Yes, it's called "Mittelschmerz" (meaning "middle pain"). Doctors don't know for sure if that pain is due to actual ovulation or something else (like the egg being swept along the fallopian tube). Not every woman feels this; and some women, like myself, feel it some months and not others.

M.,
I experience this type of cramping mid month. I generally feel it on one side. I mentioned this to my gynecologist and he said in fact some women can tell when they ovulate due to the cramping they feel. It's made it pretty easy for my husband and I to get pregnant twice, since I could tell when I was ovulating.
