I am looking for a new Ob/Gyn in the Barrington or surrounding area (where I work). I would really prefer a female and someone who is with Good Shepherd. I tried to get in with Novas & Dohr since I've heard good things from friends and this website, but there was a really long wait for an appointment and I have a more immediate need which they didn't seem willing to accomodate. I havn't heard anything about this practice.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for all the responses! I had to get in some place quickly so before I received all of these responses, I made an appointment with Crandall & Meyer. They did have alot of good reviews on this site, are very convenient to where I work, and were willing to get me in quickly. I saw Dr. Crandall and he was fine. I now kind of wish I had waited a few days because I think I would probably like the female doctors at Woman to Woman better. I am glad I didn't go to Novas & Dohr after all. I also am excited that I found this site. It is a great resource. Thank you again for your contributions. I am hopeful I can contribute more myself in the future.

I have been going to Woman to Woman for a few years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Dr. Salis is my doctor, but Dr. Perlis delivered my third child. Both of them are wonderful -- they are patient and understanding and very easy to talk to. Dr. Perlis was a riot in the delivery room. I highly recommend either of the two. I only saw Dr. Ghandi and Dr. Beall once each so that I could meet all the Drs. in case one of them was on call for my delivery. Dr. Ghandi is very nice but I felt Dr. Beall was a little too opinionated for my taste. Hope this helps!

I really like the office and all the Docs. Dr. Beall was my favorite but I saw them all. Gandhi was a little hurried when I saw her in the office- but she did a great c section.

I used Woman to Woman in CL and I loved them. My favorite doctor there was Dr. Perlis, but they're all very nice and professional. Dr. Gandhi is probably the most 'professional' meaning she gets in and gets out pretty quick but they all take time to answer questions and listen.

I had very short waits there which was very nice. Nurses always called me back or talked to me immediately when I called the office with questions.

(For the record, I had been with Novas/Dohr with my first pregnancy and although I ADORED Dr. Dohr, I had horrible problems with Dr. Novas not respecting my wishes during my birth. I have met many women who had the same issues with her.)

I don't know if you decided to go with Woman to Woman or not, but I would HIGHLY recommend them. I have always had the best experience with them. They are amazing!! I have NEVER had a doctor call me, ON THE WEEKEND, to make sure that I was doing okay, but that happened with them. Dr. Perlis, is BY FAR the best doctor that I have ever gone to.

I have been going to Woman to Woman for years I really really like them as doctors They are very caring and cover all the bases. The billing is a little sticky, they will send out a bright pink letter if you don't pay your part when they think you should pay and if you don't pay in full and they have to send you another bill they charge you 20.00 which I don't think is right I am sure they have been left hanging out to dry in the past but that should not be reflected on all of us. So if you plan on paying your bill before you walk out the door to avoid getting any kind of bill this is the place to go.
The doctors and nurses are great.

Hello A.-
I started with Novas & Dohr and was REALLY unhappy (I should clarify- I really liked Dr. J. Dohr, but had some VERY unpleasant experiences with her partner- Dr. Novas during my pregnancy. So unpleasant that I switched doctors 6 months into my pregnancy with my second child). I too have always preferred female Ob/Gyn, but I ended up switching to Dr. Randy Zimmerman (his office is attached to Good Shepard building) and I really like him. Specifically, he listens and is not condescending. Hope this helps. Good luck with your search.
