We are looking at houses and trying to decide between mckinney and frisco schools. I think it would be isbell school in frisco and maybe bennett in mckinney. Any opinions on which school district is better?

Frisco was overall rated as "recognized" however many of their schools are too new to even be ranked. Bennet was recognized as well. Recognized is the second highest ranking (exemplary is the highest) However, from a realtor's point of view, McKinney's housing values tend to increase better than Frisco's. Frisco has seen a bit of a decline over the past two years. Both schools though have received praise from people who have moved into them.

I hear that Frisco has better schools. But there are places in Mckinney you can live that you are zoned for Frisco schools. Like Craig Ranch I know for sure.

K.,

would you mind sharing any feedback on this topic with me as well? We are in the same situation with a 4 1/2 boy and 2 year old boy. We will be buying a home this summer. Leaning toward FISD but am curious about the advice you may get.

Thanks

I have a friend that has her daughter in McKinney ISD, and had many problems with the schools. Maybe they are getting better. My daughter is in Frisco ISD, and we love it! The teachers, principals, and staff really work as a team. I love the school spirit each school has! Isabel is a newer school, and suppose to be really good.

Hi K.,
We will be moving to McKinney in April. We are building with ashton Woods Homes which is in the Brookstone community. It is a Mckinney address, but a Frisco isd. We too will be at Isabell Elementary. My daughter will be 2 in March. Come live close to us so our kids can play and go to school together. Our new neighborhood is full of young families. There are 52 children under the age of 5. WOW!!! Frisco isd is an outstanding school district. I've not heard very many positive things about McKinney. Plus Frisco's school taxes are less and they are building several new elementarys, a new middle and a new high shool. I've heard that some McKinney kids are having to change schools each year do to the high number of students. They keep moving them around which has got to be hard on the kids. Hopefully this helps you.
If you happen to be in need of child care, I have an in-home day care. I have a full time spot open. If you would like more info please email me @

Thanks,
M.

I live in the Hunters Creek subdivision, and my 5 yr old goes to Isbell. It is a GREAT school, and I love all the teachers. They are great about the pep ralleys on Friday, and interacting the parents into the kids daily activities. Love the school.

Frisco has great schools from what I understand but the housing prices are a bit more, we chose to live in McKinney because you can get more square footage per dollar and the fact the schools are good. Isn't Bennett off of Hardin? If it is, it will feed into Fabion and then into Mckinney which are the better schools. Stonebridge now is going to have their own high school in about a year too, so you might want to look into that. I was told though to stay away from Mckinney North so we looked on El Dorado.
FYI Valley Creek Elementary is ranked 4th in the state of Texas for being one of the best. It is different than any school that my daughter has attended and they are great over there. There are alot of homes too in district that are for sale that are resonable. There are plenty of variances in home prices within the VC district too.
I forsee it's not long too that McKinney will be getting a mall. It's growing so fast here and we really have loved living here. :)

Hi. I'm a mom of 4 boys. 2 in elementary and 1 in middle school. We are renting in McKinney and my children are zoned for frisco schools, so when we started house hunting we were very torn. I found that both schools are very similiar eduationally (ratings) for elementary. McKinney high schools aren't fairing as well. also you will pay more in taxes for McKinney schools. Frisco has 1 high school and is building another(both will be fairly new when your children reach high school). If sports are important to your family, Mckinney will have more opportunities for more students to participate in sports because they will have 3 high schools as of next year. We are not staying in the area afterall but I would choose Frisco personally. Hope I've been helpful.
