Online Shopping - Dunstable,MA

I have two girls, one will be three in a few weeks and one will be one in the middle of May. It is so hard grocery shopping bc they take up the entire cart themselves!

Has anyone used online sites to buy the bulky things....diapers, wipes, paper goods....

Just wondering if they seem more expensive, even with the free shipping, and if its been a positive experience (or negative).

Thanks Ladies!

I have used Peapod and Roche Brothers delivery for years - I love them. I find that I spend less money because there is no impulse buying and I usually can find a promotion code for free delivery but even the $10 charge is worth it to avoid the grocery store with little ones.

I use peapod.com weekly. I usually start putting things in cart on monday, lock in a delivery date and time, and update daily until friday. my delivery is usually on saturdays. not only do I think I am getting same prices, but if quality is not ok (esp. with fruit), I call and I get the refund on those items. plus it saves our weekends, so we get more time together.

I LOVE PEAPOD!

I've been ordering from them for 10 yrs. The pricing is pretty much the same. And I'll happily pay $10 (usually less) for delivery, simply to avoid the aggravation of the grocery store.

We use them for food, diapers, formula, household cleaners, toilet paper, paper towels, bath stuff...everything. The drivers are outstnding - so, so polite and their service is terrific, in the rare occasion that you don't receive something you ordered.
They'll bring everything right into your kitchen!

I can't say enough. Definitely give it a try!

I've used diapers.com and its about the same price as the stores. It was a good experience - fun to get a big old box of diapers on your doorstep without having to lug them around.

I can TOTALLY relate to the shopping troubles. My children are 1 and almost three. I cant believe that so few stores have carts that will accomodate two small children. My regular grocery store has the ratty old ones that look like cars, but they are giant and hard to push, the belts are all broken, and invariably one or both of my children end up hanging out the side or running around the store.

Target - ditto. Too hard to push and the kids dont stay buckled in.

Stores with good carts - Sam's Club has a big, regular cart which will accomodate two kids. We get most diapers and wipes here instead of online (or at babys r us - where we have a card and get a free box after buying 10).

Whole Food and Central Market - Great Carts! The kids sit up high next too you - its like a regular cart, except it looks like a car, and has steering wheels. Good times, if you are a toddler...

I haven't used it because my daughter's been out of diapers for quite a while but I've heard that Amazon Mom is great for diapers and wipes.

I buy grocery items at amazon.com. In fact, I do alot of shopping on amazon since we are 3+ hours from Portland and choices are limited in our smaller city. With the free shipping, some things are cheaper than in the grocery store but you sometimes have to buy larger quantities. Some specialty items cost more so I stock up when I'm in Portland. The customer service at amazon has been excellent, with both amazon and their independent merchants. Any problem has been resolved quickly, they have sent me replacements and mailing labels for returns.

Costco also has good prices and excellent customer service. I've used Walmart site to store, too. No shipping charge but you have to go into the store to pick up.

I don't, but thats because I have a husband who loves to shop at costco. I do however have many friends who swear by diapers.com and say the prices are comparable and its so worth it. I even have one who gets all her groceries delivered. But the Diapers.com for sure is a good thing.

I've never tried that, but what I do is leave the kids with my DH, and go shopping by myself :) (usually Thurs. eve after supper). He puts them to bed for me. I love my time to myself- and I've found that I actually save a lot of money that way because I have the time to rifle through my coupons, I don't have any "please, please Mommy can you buy this?", and I'm less likely to forget something which of course requires the hassle of a return trip.

Price check. Sometimes it's time vs money and sometimes the sales are good.

When DH was a single dad, he often used Peapod by Giant. Many big chains deliver groceries now and while you don't always get the big sales, it's not that bad and delivery is usually low. AND they save your order so if you always need 2% milk, you just check it off the list from the week before. They were very good about refunds if something wasn't up to par.

I also used diapers.com when my baby was little and I just couldn't remember to get out to buy a big pack. Diapers.com is FAST and they sell a lot more than diapers. My sister said recently that they were cheaper than Target.

Friends of ours order so much from Amazon that they have Prime for 2 day shipping and use Amazon for their diapers.

diapers.com

Never had any problems with them. Prices are usually comprable to what you would pay at Target etc. PLUS its free shipping on orders over $45 I think. I get my diapers, wipes, and other supplies such as puffies, bottles etc on here. Also they have great incentives for new customers

Hi! I've spent a lot of time looking for groceries online to have sent to my elderly mother and never found any bargains. I do however LOVE Costco. When my guys were your age I added up that we were saving more than the membership just on the price difference in the cost of milk. Find someone to share a membership with and you are even better off. The people in the Nashua store are wonderful and helpful, many of then have worked there for years, Costco is a wonderful company. There are two seats in the cart which was great when mine were little, I wished I could still corral them! (they're 15 1/2 and 18). They are more than food and once you've spent some time looking around you will be buying your printer cartridges, hubby's jeans, good books, and so much more. just please don't buy it all at once. people tend to go overboard on their first trip and it turns them off to the whole thing. Don't be afraid of their house brand. For example, their jelly beans are Jelly Bellies, their ice cream has no corn syrup, and their laundry soap is rated a best buy in Consumer Reports. Oh, and you have girls, they have the cutest dresses! Last year I loaded up on all the Sesame Street clothing to send to my nieces! Obviously, I could go on, but I'll save you and won't!!

I used to use diapers.com and really loved getting our box on the doorstep. Their prices seem to have creeped up a bit like everyone else. But we recently switched to Amazon.com because if you do Subscribe and Save and Amazon Mom it's a 30% savings.

I have been using Amazon.com for diapers and wipes and love it. If you sign up for Amazon Mom and then order the diapers and wipes using the subscribe and save option, you save 30%. There have also been 20% off diaper coupons for amazon in some the baby magazine lately, that you can use with the amazon mom savings. You also get free 2 day shipping.

do you have sa Sam's Club near you. Their online shopping is great - you can create lists and submit the order - then you go to the store and they have everything in the cart already - you hand them the order slip, they ring you up and out to the car you go. they have 2 seats in the carriage - so you can add a note to your order to make sure it's in a cart not a flat bed, and that the seat needs to be empty to put the kids in. i go once a month to get the staples - diapers, wipes, formula, cereal, frozen chicken, coffee, juice, paper products, dish/laundry detergent etc... so then i only have to go to the grocery store once a week (usually 1 weekend day where the kids are home iwth the hubby, or he goes and does it) to get the staples that exipre weekly - milk, bread, fruits, veggies.

We use Peapod (stop and Shop) once in a while. It does help save money I think because you aren't going up and down every isle looking at stuff with your stomach saying "Hmmm....what about that?" We also stock up on stuff at BJ's as far as toilet paper, paper towels, drinks, diapers and wipes.
