Hi Moms,

I know all of you helpful money saving mamas can give me some great advice on this one. It's funny because I've almost become "addicted" to saving money on diapers, now that my fourth child is on the way! : )

My 2 yr old is still in diapers and I'm trying to stock up before new baby comes, must be the "nesting" in me. : )

I found a great site called shopathome.com that had some great coupons for Huggies, $3 off the supreme packs and $3.50 any 2 size Huggies diapers but they don't have the $3 off supremes anymore. I think I'm driving my husband CRAZY with buying diapers every time we shop but I tell him "If we have to buy them anyways, why not get them while we have a coupon before it expires and then have to pay full price??" But we're literally to the point where boxes of diapes are being stocked up in the garage, LOL, again...I think I'm becoming hooked on buying them, when I can save money doing it. : )

So anyhow, I know I can't be the only money saivng obsessed mom out there and would love to hear what works for you when it comes to savuing money on diapers....and wipes. I prefer Huggies but would use Pampers with a good coupon. I've already signed up on huggies.com, pampers.com and LUVS.com but it doesn't seem I'm getting mailed or emailed any sort of coupons. Did I do something wrong??
Well TIA for your help, I look forward to reading the responses.

Have a great day!

So What Happened?

Hello moms and thank you to all who responded. I wanted to send you an update and let you know I'm now officially "Hooked" on the Amazon diapers! LOL : ) I was shocked to see how much I could save and have already ordered my first 3 shipments of diapers and a BIG box of Pampers wipes. I'm so thankful to find out about this great deal on diapers and couldn't believe how much I can save with the 30% off right now, I'm saving around $10-12 per box of diapers, that's great! Now if only I can get my husband as excited as me to save the money on diapers then I'll be the happiest money saving mommy! : )

Thanks again to everyone!

FORGET the name brands! I've saved so much money by ditching Pampers and Huggies with my second child, and we haven't had any problems. I use Kroger Comforts brand and Target's Up and Up brand -they're both cute and HALF PRICE off Huggies and Pampers. Seriously -there's a $10 -$13 difference a box! Even with the coupons, Huggies and Pampers cost a lot more.

I use Amazon for my diaper needs (cheaper than diapers.com) - if you set up a subscription you receive an additional 15% off and free 2-day shipping. I've been using them for the last 2 1/2 years. No more lugging huge boxes of diapers from the stores =)

Comparison - Mary P said you can buy Huggies at Costo for .20 cents per diaper. With Amazon it's .18 cents per diaper plus no tax and free shipping - that's a win win in my book =)

Kroger and Albertson's usually have a good once a month sale on their boxes of diapers. I used to (we're potty trained now), get the boxes on sale at Albertson's for 17.99 and use a $2 off coupon making them $15.99 a box. It takes a while for the websites you mentioned to start sending you coupons, but when they do, they're good ones. Make sure that you put on there that you are expecting! They'll send you tooooons of coupons! Also, sign up for enfamil.com and similac even if you're going to breastfeed. I always liked having the back-up free formula if I needed to supplement.

I'm with Julie B. The only name-brand diapers that my kids have used were purchased by their grandparents. When I buy diapers, I always buy either the Target brand or the Kroger brand. I've never had a problem with either--no leaks, fit is fine, materials are soft, look of the diaper is just fine (the Target ones are actually pretty cute, with big pastel blue and green polka dots), etc. I just can't justify spending twice as much on diapers for the branding alone.

One thing I will say is that I haven't tried the store-brand diapers for newborns, since generous grandparents made sure that we had plenty of newborn diapers available when both my children were born. I do like the soft texture of the Pampers swaddlers, but beyond that, I've been more than happy with generic.

i'm interested in looking into the amazon thing. sounds interesting. But i will tell you what i currently do. I shop at babysrus. The diapers are actually more expensive there. But they let you use their coupon and a brand coupon. If i have two $3.00 off huggies coupon. I will use the babies r us coupon to buy two boxesand get a $10 gift card. plus one $3.00 off coupon per box. I ALWAYS save my gift cards for the next time i buy diapers. the deal doesn't work if you spend the gift card on other things! I usually always have a $10 gift card so I save $16 for two boxes of diapers. you have to get on the babyrus mailing list to get those coupons.

I love buying from Amazon.com. Like Jaye and JM said, you get 15% off your order, and currently you actually get 30% off your order (if you set up a monthly delivery). And even before the 15 or 30% off, their diapers are cheaper than Costco's - and free 2 day shipping! There's also a 20% off Amazon coupon in this month's Parents magazine that can be stacked with the 30% off for even more savings. I think the coupon expires Aug. 31.

I also use Swagbucks.com as my search engine, and earn points through their site that I use to buy Amazon gift cards. I've been using Swagbucks for almost a year, and I've earned about $30 in gift cards so far. (You can use the points for other types of gift cards too, but for us the Amazon cards are the most valuable.)

Before the birth of my third son in April, I was addicted to couponing. But since then I just don't have the time, and this deal from Amazon has been a Godsend.

Unless you have to because of allergies, don't be loyal to one brand. I usually used the store brand of where ever I did my shopping that week, WalMart, Target or Kroger. Sometimes I found coupons that would make Pampers or Huggies cheaper than the store brands and then I'd buy those.

If we have any more children, I plan to use cloth diapers. They seem to cost more in the beginning, but you really save money in the long run, especially if you use them for more than one child.

I use Luvs as well. I couldn't use them for my son because he got rashes with ANY other brand besides Huggies. But he potty trained now, and luckily his younger sister does awesome with the Luvs....they are MUCH cheaper.

Not sure if craigslist is in your area but a lot of times people over buy and end up with boxes and boxes left of diapers. I bought two brand new boxes for less then half the cost..I would never buy opened boxes but that is up to you. hope this helps and remember always be wise when using craigslist (as im sure you know this already)

I had 2 in diapers so I started buying the target & walmart brand of diapers. I do splurge for the huggies good nights for the night time diapers so they dont leak while they sleep. A box at walmart is $13.69 compared to huggies at $20! They work just as good!! Trust me, I have gone thru very many diapers with both kids. I have even used the sams brand too & they work great. Generic all the way baby!

My answer doesn't really pertain to using coupons but when I was preg on my shower invites we put as a game who ever brings the most diapers wins a fabulous door prize!! There are alot of competitive women out there who will do what they can to win a $15 door prize or gift cert!!! At my shower first and second place didn't even come, just sent the diapers to see if they won!! Also I have heard of many people doing Daddy showers: A bunch of guys getting together to play pool or something and they all bring a pack of diapers as the gift! Great way to get stocked up without having to spend money!!

Try using cloth diapers, much cheaper in the long run. I did it with twins and now my 3 year old is just growing out of them. I have replaced the diapers maybe 3 times in the last 5 years. The only time I used disposables was when going out and even then I always buy store/generic because it is cheaper than name brand with coupons. I did use wipes but then I discovered its easier to use paper towel with water in the bathroom when I change unless its really messy or I am out at the park going someplace where I know I won't have access to a bathroom. Chill out, and take it easy. Dont' stress out! Relax! Washing a load of diapers every day or two to me is cheaper than paying $20 a week in landfill additions!

Have you thought about using store brand diapers? You would be saving much more money by using store brand. I use Target for my son, he's in a size 3 and a box of diapers is only $12.99. I can't remember exactly how many come in the box, close to 100 I think. I get Target brand coupons sent to me too so sometimes I only end up paying $10. I've never had any problems with these diapers.

Do you do the Huggies rewards program? If not, it sounds like you have a gold mine sitting in the garage. Each pack should have a reward code. Take it to their website and log it in. They have instant win games you can play where if you win, it's a FREE pack of diapers. Initially, I thought it was a long shot, but I was able to win three packs in one night and only spent about 40 of my rewards points. The game is slow and kind of boring, but worth it if you win. They also have pull ups, wipes and misc other gift certificates you can try to win. If you don't want to go the game route, you can still enter your codes and get a free pack for about 300pts.

Also, if you google free huggies reward codes their are wonderful people who actualy chart all of the free codes they can find. You cut and paste these into your account and they add up fast!

I've pretty much used Luvs since i noticed the HUGE price difference between them and huggies or Pampers.

Although I found out that the company that makes Luvs brand ALSO makes the Target brand diapers. So far those are the cheapest one's i have found, in stores.

I have found some GREAT deals on the huggies wipes via coupons.com and coupon diva. When I combine them with the in-store card discount I got the big refill and the little plastic tub for about $6. I thought it was pretty decent considering they typically cost $8-10 (depending on card).
Those coupon site also have great diaper coupons and sometimes if you go to manufacturer of the diaper they post or will send you coupons if you sign up for them:)

You must try amazon.com. I just got 204 size 3 diapers for $28. If you do subscribe and save, you get 15% off. Right now they are running in additional 15%off, so you save 30%. It is the best deal that I have found so far.
If you do diapers.com, they accept coupons. You mail them in and they give you a credit. Amazon is cheaper right now, but diapers.com is worth it to buy from once since you get the $10 off. That $10off is a one time deal.

Do you have a Costco or similar warehouse club in your area? I used to buy my diapers, wipes and formula at Costco, and I saved a FORTUNE. Plus, the diapers come in huge boxes of around 200/box. For example - a 40 pack of Huggies @ the regular store was around $12 - that works out to $0.30 per diaper. The box of 200 of Huggies @ Costco was $40 - $0.20 per diaper. That’s $0.10 a diaper savings!! It's the same with the wipes and formula. AND, if you ditch the name brand (which do not work any better in my experience), Costco had their brand which was $10 less per box.

I have always used the Wal-Mart store brand diapers for all 3 of my kids. I think they are called Parents Choice they come in a yellow box. You 3x the amount for the same price as pampers or Huggies.
