Hi. I am a mom of two, newly pregnant w/ my 3rd and seeking a new OB/GYN. We live in Auburndale and are willing to drive a reasonable distance for quality care. My 2nd was born at Regency Med. Center in Winter Haven and we didn't have a very good experience, nor did we care for Lakeland Regional (they have a very high c-cection rate). Birthing centers are also not an option for us. We've been here for under 2 years, so any suggestions about good doctors/hospitals would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the input. We decided to go with Celebration Obstetrics and Dr Marcantel. So far, so good. I had heard good things about him from others off of this message board, as well. He and his staff seem very well put together so i'm looking forward to a good delivery.

I saw Dr. Marcantel at Celebration hospital. I was a first time mom, and loved the care I recived. The hospital was great, the baby never left my sight and you give birth in your recovery room.
The hospital is about 30 minutes from my home in Eagle Lake and I plan on going back to him if we have more chldren.

I DELIVERED 2 NATURAL AND 1 C-SECTION AND THEY WERE GREAT - THEY HOSPITAL IS EXCELLENT (THE WOMENS CENTER IS REALLY NICE. I LIKE DR. VON THRONE AND DR WILKENS, THEY ARE A PART OF THE ABOVE GROUP - THEY ALSO USE 4D IMAGING FOR SONOGRAMS. GOOD LUCK - L.
I just wanted to reinforce your refusal for Lakeland Regional. My son was early and put in the NICU for a couple days. They allowed a stranger access to him unsupervised because she claimed to be from my church. DO NOT GO TO LAKELAND REGIONAL!
Celabration Hospital!!!! thats all I have to say!!!! Take I4 east to 417 (no tolls from I4 to the hospital) Its a GREAT Hospital... and only 30 to 45 min drive.
