My daughter was 3 before I got her potty trained. I tried many differents things but in the end I had to wait until she was ready. She woke up one day and decided she wanted to wear panties like her cousin (who is a little over a year older than her). Good luck.

when my daughter was three she still wore diapers at night only. i pushed the daytime potty and left the night time up to her. one night she said "mommy i want to wear big girl panties to be like you." she did and she very seldom has accidents. we bought her princess panties and she rufuses to pee on their heads.

I agree with Charity on this one. I did the same thing with my daughter.

My son was a little over three and my husband and I set a date bought underwear and planned on staying in the house a few days. We put him in underwear on Saturday over the next few days we only had 2 accidents and then we were good. Oh for a week or so we did do goodnights but then we went 100% underwear. I say bear down with underwear and a lot of patience it will happen :) good luck

If you can find out what motivates her then give her a reward for going on the potty. With my son it was as simple as getting a piggy bank and he got quarters for going potty, dollars for BM. He liked to carry it around and it really motivated him to go. He did have a few set backs, but it worked out. The not wearing underwear wasn't really successful, but if she likes a certain character you can buy special underwear. We always told him that if he pees on Thomas, or Scooby that they would be very upset. Hope some of this may help you.

I agree with what they all had said..but I also found that if you live a very busy lifestyle it is hard to train them. I also took a few days off so I could spend time at home with her so I could keep putting her on the potty. We played a game where I let her set the timer (used kitchen timer) and we would set it for every 15-20 minutes and then every time it went off we would run to the bathroom and try going again. She had a lot of fun doing it and it ended up working for us. Best of luck!

My son was 2 whenever I found out that I was pregnant & I wanted him potty trained before the baby got here. It is so hard but so worth it lol He hated a potty chair & insisted on using the big potty with his Dora seat that fit on it. I would see him peeing his pants & run him to the bathroom. It is so frustrating. We worked on peeing first of course & he would still do #2 in a pullup but he would come & ask me to put a pull up on him so he could hide & do #2. So after we got peeing down, I waited til we ran out of pull ups & told him we had no more & showed him it was empty & that he had to use the potty the nest time. He fought & held it in for a while. But eventually he couldnt hold it in any longer. I also bought those Kando wipes. I told him they were big boy wipes & we could use those whenever he poopooed in the big potty. Eventually it worked. He was potty trained in Feb/March 2006 & I had my baby in May. After having him he started backsliding & peeing in his undies again but it only lasted a week.He turned 3 in August. It is very hard & frustrating. Many times I just wanted to stop & say forget it! I must admit it was easier getting him to pee outside than anything. We had a frog statue out there & we made a big deal about him peeing on the frog. That worked so well because he thought it was fun to pee on the frog lol

My daughter will be 3 in Dec and she is almost potty trained w/ few accidents. What I did was I told her that they didn't make 3 year old diapers/pull-ups, and she was going to have to start using the potty...and when she realized mommy wasn't buying pullups anymore she started using the potty.

I have a little girl that turned three in July. We have been trying to potty train since before she was three. I have heard that three year olds are harder to train than two year olds. There is a lot of cognitive growth going on and is difficult to concentrate on using the potty. It is very frustrating. We have tried every method to get her to use the potty regularly. I wish you the best. Maybe you will have it easier than we are. Do not worry, she will potty train when she is ready.
