B.B.
I've heard good things about it, too. I'll be checking back for responses b/c my 2 y/o son loves trains (and anything else that moves:)
Has anyone riden the North Pole Express in Grapevine? It sounds kind of fun, but I would love to hear the views of someone that has actually riden on it.

We did it last year, I would probably not do it again. I am sure my 2 year old liked it, but was not overly excited at all. Also, when you are on the train, Santa comes through once, very quickly to say ho ho ho and that is it.
we have done it and weren't that impressed. I didn't feel like it was "as great" as it sounded. It would have been nice if there were Christmas lights throughout the wooded areas as the train moved. So there wasn't much Christmas scenery to see. Santa came by for a hot minute...and the christmas songs were playing but, I didn't feel it was worth the money. There is so much more they could do to make that a great experience! I think the little kids had fun but, that's just kids. You know mom's are the one's with the check book so I would think they would want to impress us too--so we'll come back! :o)
We did it a few years ago when my daughter was 4. While I was not overly impressed with it and thought the scenery was lacking, she & her friend had a blast. We've all seen the movie so I guess my husband, the other parents & myself were expecting something else. However, they thought it was super cool to go for a train ride at night and it didn't even phase them that only saw Santa for a minute. They got to sing songs and wear their pjs! It's not something I would do again only b/c she's past the perfect age for it. For a 3 yr old boy, I would go for it. Just keep it in perspective from a child's point of view as it's intended.
We did it, and honestly, for the money, I would not do it again! It was very expensive in my opinion. There are some fun things to do there, so maybe with one child, one time, i would be more willing. (But I have 5, so its crazy expensive for me:) You can see Santa, take fun pictures with different displays, make an ornament I think, and buy from some of the food vendors. (Maybe that was only on a weekend though, not sure). We even sat and watched some different kids perform on a stage. Over all, it was a fun night, but the Polar Express was just not that great. ~A.~
