if he's never cried real tears, no worries -- it takes time for the tears to come. but if he used to cry them and all of a sudden, its stopped, make sure he's not dehydrated!

Give it time, the water works will start soon! DH didn't really start with the real tears until around 8-9mos. Now they're BIG crocodile tears when he's mad.
I would call his doctor, he could have plugged tear ducts.
I would talk to your pediatrician about it, he could have clogged tear ducks... Good Luck
That is normal. My son didn't produce tears until about 5 1/2 months. If it bothers you, mention it to your pedi. Ours told us when the baby was really upset - we would see the waterworks!
I'd also call the pediatrician's office and ask if it's a concern to them. I remember one of my kids not having a lot of tears when they cried, but when I looked it up online, it mentions that it could be a sign of dehydration.
My personal philosophy is that a call only takes a few minutes and gives invaluable peace of mind.
This is completely normal, don't worry.
