Hi S.,
I am sorry I didn't respond to your request, i actually have been meaning to when i first saw it, but had to leave the office. I am a social worker that works very closely with CPS. I dont understnad why they took away your children with just the babysitters statement, they should have done an investigation (search the home, talk to the parents, talk to the children) before they take a child away from the home. CPS also comes up with a plan to return the chidlren to the home (believe it or not, their main goal IS to return the children to their home). Cooperate with CPS and the request they are suggesting (parenting classes, counseling). If you need a lawyer or any other resource, dial 211 on your phone and you will be connected the First Call For Help and they are a referral agency that can give you phone numbers of any type of assistance that you need. Ask for the Volunteer Lawyer Program, they are an agency of lawyers that hear the story and then one volunteers to represent you. Hope this is helpful and good luck...i hope your babies will come home soon!!!!
