Night Nurse or Infant Care Specialist in Naperville

We are expecting our third child and would like to hire a "night nurse". The thought process is that if I can get a decent night sleep I'll be fine during the day to manage all three. The problem is that I can't find anyone or any agency in the Naperville area with this type of experience. Can anyone make a recommendation/reference? Thanks SO much in advance!

What can I do next?

I recently interviewed nannies through Gold Coast Domestic Agency in Downers Grove. I am not totally sure you'd find a night nurse through them, but it is worth a call. Good luck!

Hi J.,
Have you tried care.com or sittercity.com? I used those sites to find a nanny. There are candidates there posting w/various hours, etc... You could specifically put your "job request" on the site and wait to see what kind of response you get. I'm sure you'd find something. Unfortunately you do need to pay for their website in order to get contact info of the candidates. But you can do an intial search for free; in order to get contact info, you have to sign up and pay. I really like these sites as the candidates can submit background checks online. You can pre-screen your candidates by looking at their info before calling them and then meeting them in person. Another option is trying to post something on Craigslist. If you have time to search for candidates, it's a great option. Good luck!

I personally have never had a night nurse with any of my babies, but one of the Dr.'s I worked for did for his wife. I know you were looking for some one in the Naperville area. His wife delivered at Edward Hospital and he actaully "hired" 2 of the nurses from the hospital to come in and take care of the night duties. That is the only "experiemce" I have had with that.

We have 21 month old twins, in addition to older brothers, and had the same thought process you did -- a good night's sleep will make the day better. We found an excellent night nurse using Midwest Nannies, which is located in St. Charles. They have a short-term placement group, which is where they hire the night nannies from. Their web address is midwestnanny.com. I'd definitely suggest calling them, and if they don't have someone willing to go to Naperville, maybe they'll have a suggestion of an agency closer to where you are.

Good luck!

I am a NICU RN and I know of several registered nurses with neonatal experience that are interested in doing this type of care all over the Chicago area. They have had all of the background checks done and have advanced certifications. Please email me for more information.
