Newborn Portraits/Announcements

If you want great portraits that are inexpensive try Leon at Motophoto in Plano at Park/Preston. They do announcements too. However, he books up so if you have an idea of a time frame I would try to make an appointment now.

You MUST call Angela at Artistic Images by Angela. That is her specialty and she really is amazing. I have used her for every picture ever taken of my daughter and I love ALL OF THEM. She is VERY reasonable. My husband is a coach/teacher and I am a SAHM so she fits into our budget. She cares so much about the quality of her work. It is worth a call. ###-###-####

Not sure of their announcement packages, but Studio One to One takes incredible pictures. You can usually go the the website and get coupon for a free picture. I had some pictures of my sons and the photographer really captured their personalities.

I went to Robinson photography--###-###-####. They do the picture with the sleeping infant and a bow around their bottom.....it's so precious. They actually created the pose and trademarked--everybody has tried to copy it. It's a grandpa and grandma that do the photography and they're great. I highly recommend them. tell them L. M. sent you. Also, don't wait, they can't get the pose after your baby is older than 3 weeks. These people are much cheaper than studio one or any of the "chains".

You might look into The Picture People (www.picturepeople.com) or Portrait Innovations (www.portraitinnovations.com) - they both have locations in Plano and the photos from both places I've seen are great! They may even offer a package that includes photo announcements if that's something you're interested in.

I've been using a wonderful person in Allen - she has a portable studio and will come to your home. She just did her fourth shoot for us. Her website is: www.photobyeleonore.com. She did our birth announcements, and they were beautiful! She's reasonably priced and very flexible. We liked that she'll come to your home because we can change outfits and use our own toys and props. I delivered at Presby Plano at the tollway in North Dallas. They contract a company called 'growing family' who comes in on the second day or so to take newborn pictures. They offer several announcement packages that are very reasonable and good quality. Go to www.growingfamily.com -- With the package we chose, they actually came to our home to shoot a 1-month picture. Granted, it was very expensive for those 1-month photos, however...you will be exhausted when your child is 1 month old, so it is nice to have someone come to your house, set up their camera, take quality professional photos, come back to your house to show you the proofs, order them right then and there and have the finished photos mailed directly to your home!! I don't regret paying the higher price for having them come to the house at 1 month -- I probably would not have gone out to have it done. Good luck and congratulations!!

Hey J.... First of all CONGRATS!!! It is so exciting experiencing everything about being pregnant for the first time :) I have an almost 2 yr old beautiful boy & expecting our second in December.

One of the cheapest, best ways that I know for birth announcements is ordering from Costco or Sam's. You can put your own picture on there and they come with envelopes and everything. I think it's about $10-$15 for 25 of them, then it's much cheaper if you add more. Check out the website if your interested. I've gotten Christmas Cards from Costco for the past 2 years and I place my order online with my pics I've uploaded onto my computer, then I pick them up then NEXT DAY (no I don't work for them LOL)! They do a great job and very affordable ;)

I second the motion for Studio One to One. I have my kids' pictures taken there at least once a year. They cater to kids and take tons and tons of pictures for you to choose from. Their photographers and gentle and patient with little ones, and they really work with you on choosing the perfect pictures from the huge amount they take of your kid.
As far as announcements, I ordered my son's online at tinyprints.com. Everyone absolutely raved about our announcements. They're really nice-looking and reasonably-priced.

I have taken my son to many of the studios and I must say some of the best pictures came from Kiddie Kandids. They are 15.00 a sheet, and never a sitting fee. So we got 1 8x10 and 3 4x6 for 30.00. They also give you a free picture on birthdays. You might want to call and see if they offer any newborn specials.
