Hi A.,
If you go to www.meetup.com there are mom's groups on that site. Thought it might help.

Hi A.,
check out your local "MOMS Club" - it stands for Moms Offering Moms Support (just google MOMS Club - you should be able to find a link - if you need any help, just e-mail me! Our local chapter serves Ashland, Framingham and Holliston, but it is a national organization with local chapters all over the place! They have monthly meetings, the chance to join a play group, mom's night out, most have an under one group so you can meet other moms with little ones.

Good Luck!

I LOVED my new mom's group at Isis maternity in Arlington. You have to pay for the groups but it is totally worth it for all the resources there. A facilitator is there to answer all the many questions that come up and she leads discussion topics, games, baby massage and so on... they have groups for older babies too, which we are still doing (my son is 15 months)

Hi A.,
The North Suburban Family Network in Melrose has great programs for young children up to age 4. They have groups for moms of newborns and on up. I have a two year old and started going there when he was 6 weeks old. I met a great group of moms with children the same age who I remain close to now. You can find more info. at http://www.hallmarkhealth.org/northsuburban.php

Hi, A.. I am a member of Bitchin' Mamas on Meetup. There are tons of meetups in your area, including a great walk around Horn Pond every other Monday. Here's a direct link. Hope to see you at an event soon!

The Mother Connection is a nation-wide mom's group and there is a local Merrimack Valley chapter. They do all sorts of activities for kids year-round. Also, I think it is every other month that they hold a Newborn Connection meeting where new mom's go to meet other moms from the area and playgroups are formed. I did this with my son when he was about 2 months old and we are still meeting (he's almost 2 1/2 years old now). Check out www.themotherconnection.org and look for the Merrimack Valley chapter.
I also highly recommend that nursing support group that was recommended a few responses back that is in Woburn. If you are nursing, this group is a drop-in, informal, free group where moms just sit on the floor and discuss nursing issues with a great lactation expert (not one of those crazy lactation people, Janice is great!)
Good luck!

There's a support group for breast feeding Moms on Wednesdays from 1:30 to whenever (3ish- but come and go whenever you need). Janice Palmer is the lactation specialist who runs the group but it's also a good social event for Moms and kids.

It's at Baldwin park medical center (the building on the left-there's two). I think it's on Alfred st. off of 38 sort of across from Stop and Shop in Woburn. Let me know if you need any more info.
