I think that it will work...There is one here in downtown Plano. The tea area (also serves lunch) is only open around lunch time, but the baby specialty shop that it is in is open all day. I think that two business hooked up to help offset costs, which is probably a good idea or at least it couldn't hurt. Then if you feel that you could make it on your own you could always move into a place by yourself later.

I am so sorry for your loss. This is such a beautiful way to honor her and keep her legacy going. :)

I haven't been to a tea room, but they always look like so much fun! :) I think it's a great idea.

First of all, I am so sorry about your mom. My thoughts are with you.

You may want to check out the Small Business Development Center. I'm not sure exactly where you are, but the one in Collin County has a website at http://www.collinsbdc.com/. They offer free advice for people looking to start a small business.

Best wishes with everything you do!

First, let me tell you how sorry I am to hear about your Mom's passing....sending you prayers and hugs!

I love the idea!!!! I host a women's networking event in my home. We have about 35-40 women that come every month. This is an incrediably supportive group. It costs $25 each time that you come. It includes a home cooked dinner, roster with contact information for each lady that attends and a personalized folder for you.....and we have valet parking. I'd love to have you come as my guest on April 3rd if you're available. Let these ladies help you out and be your cheerleader!

However, I think that it is a sign that it is a family thing. :) I would say go for it!! I think that tea rooms are so fun and you just ahve to find the right location. As mentioned teaming up with another business would be a great idea. Check out the site that was posted about the start up business as well. You can make this happen do not let family get in your way.

Kudo's for you for wanting to do the Tea Room! Perhaps in your mother's honor and memory? Is it going to be for children or adults or both? Right place and time are 1st, then work on everything else. Are you going to provide the food or outsource it? If doing it yourself get something unique that your guest will rave about. Check out the place in Grapevine on Main Street. We went to a party there and had a great time. Good luck and let me know where you are located and if you get it going. I have 2 girls that love tea parties!
