Go to the Sears Scratch and Dent. We got our Freezer there and love it. I don't remember where exactly it is but I'm sure you can find it online. It is North of the river. Good luck and God Bless.
Well, I'm at a loss. We need a new washing machine. We probably can't spend more than $500, so no super cool front loader. Darn! Please share any advice you have about brands to buy or avoid. Also, tell me if you had my budget, would you go with a) the most basic, new Maytag (we can just swing it although it's a bit more than $500), b) the most basic model from a brand like Amana or Kenmore with an extended, five year warranty, or c) a used Maytag. I just can't decide! I feel rushed, too, because the laundry is piling up, we use cloth diapers, and the idea of taking a preschooler and toddler to the laundromat sounds like torture to me!

We bought our first washer and dryer about a year ago from Clarks Appliance in Raytown. They were AWESOME. They sell scratch and dent appliances for GE and you can get some really good discounts from them. They also sell the brand new stuff and they will deliver for a little extra and take away the old one for you. When we were looking, they recommended that we get at least the upgrade because it will last a lot longer. The base models are less expensive but you will have to replace it again a lot sooner. We have been very happy with our machine and I'm pretty sure that we paid around $500 for both the washer and the dryer. Maybe a little more then that but not much. Clarks is located on the corner of Raytown Rd and 63rd St so they are really easy to find. Good luck!
I have a friend that works at Sears - she's my best ally and she loves the Kenmores. We bought a floor model and so we received a nice discount. Mary Jo works at the Metcalf South Sears on Wednesday's and Thursday's I think from 12 till 7. She's a grandmother and very honest person, she doesn't work on commission so you can trust her opinions, tell her P. Smithson sent you there.
Sears out-let on front street. Great place... find new items that may have a scratch, dent, ding, ect. We purchased washer & dryer for about $500 2 years ago. Brand new... with Sears warrenty (dent was in the back)
I have to tell you, that within your budget is a GE front loader. I have it and bought it from home depot. I found it online. So really check around. It is the best machine for the money. I could have paid the $500 for a top loader, but why when you can get a more efficeint front loader for the same price. I hope this helps.
