I don't know where you are located but Berkeley Public Health Clinics on University and 6th provides pap smears on a sliding scale fee based upon your income. Also, if you do an internet search for public health services for your area you should be able to find a place. Several cities have public health clinics that charge on a sliding scale. I know health insurance is expensive and I'm sure we've all been in a position where we needed medical treatment and couldn't afford it. However, I hope you do get health insurance before becoming pregnant. Medical cost for a pregnancy and a newborns is very expensive. My daughter first well visit when she was 3 days old was over $250. Many insurances will not cover a pregnancy if you conceive prior to the insurance becoming effective. Good luck!
