Has anyone planned or been to a party where the theme was "Survivorman" or "Man vs Wild"? I am trying to think of a few games or activities to do with the kids.I had thought I would have them cook their hotdogs on stick's(pretending it is snake,or animal)over the fire, yes adult supervised! I think I will use aluminum pie plates to eat on,trail mix and canteens to drink out of. What kind of game to play? Anyone have a cute idea for party favors..camo stuff?? or is that too "army"?Any ideas would be welcomed and probably used!! My son's birthday is a couple weeks away and as you can see.....I'm behind. Thank you all!!

What can I do next?

My grandson had a survivor party this summer. They had a rope climb where kids tried to climb the rope, which was suspended from a high tree limb, and touch the bandana that was tied to the top. They decorated insulated canvas bags that my daughter ordered from Oriental Trading and put a cold bottle of water in them. We filled a pool with sticks and pine straw, and the kids dug for plastic snakes and other bugs that were hidden in the straw. They also tried to catch goldfish and minnows using small fish nets in a kiddie pool. Each child had his/her face painted at the beginning of the party with a camo theme. They had a pinata filled with candy and a camo pack of toys also ordered from OT. For treats, we made snow cones. They ate chocolate cupcakes that had gummy worms and crumbled oreos in the frosting. The kids had a great time!

OK, let me first say I love this idea! I'm a huge Survivorman fan. I doubt either of my girls will ever have one of these....

Anyway, I'm basing both of these favor ideas on the Survivorman show. Maybe, if it's not too expensive, you could give all the kids a bandana to wear on their heads like he does. And in the favor bags, you could put a little plastic harmonica since Survivorman always carries his. I love the compass idea and maybe some gummy bugs & worms???

Good luck & have fun!

Dont stress. Camo is good, but you can also put in some snakes, bugs, compasses, and binoculars too. Hit Party Galaxy - they got all the goods. But beware, the prices can add up fast. Games and crafts - I did one where we had a bunch of foamy cut-out dragonflies and butterflies that they decorated and made fridge magnets - Hobby Lobby's good for stuff like that. Scavenger hunt would be good - you can even stash a cache in a small treasure box (see Hobby Lobby again) insead of a pinata. "walking across rocks in a swamp" can be a good outdoor game. Or "spear giant spiders". And, if you have some big trees, you can set up a rope for them to "swing across the river". You could go crazy with a whole obstacle course. Set up rope "paths" around your yard and have them go back and forth from one event to the next. This would go great with a cookout (I even keep costs down with a potluck), and my girls (9&10) actually prefer home parties with cookouts to anything else. We just finished up our third hula party with shish-k-bobs and fresh fruit! :]

For party favors: maybe a compass? a watch (not digital)?

Also, here's a link I found for a party another mom did for her 7yr old with Man vs. Wild:
