Hi, I currently live in Garland, and I need to find a good place to have a birthday party for my daughter's first birthday! Its coming up real soon and I HAVE NO CLUE! I was looking for a clubhouse that I can rent out, and just do everything myself. Or a place that is kid friendly for kids 1-12 yrs of age. Any suggestions?? Please help!!

Hello.

The Little Gym in Rowlett (off of HW 66) is a great place. You can rent out the space for 1 hour for play. Then spend another hour in their party room for cake and presents. It's really good for smaller kids. They have age appropriate activities for the kids.

L.,

I had my son't b-day party at LIttle Gym and it was awesome. They did everything, all I had to do was bring the cake and the food I wanted. They had decorations and paper products and all the entertainment. My son is 3, but we had kids from 1-9 years old and everyone had a great time. The price is pretty reasonable too. WE paid 275 for 15 kids (excluding my son) and 15 bucks per kid above the 15.
WEll worth the price. My son had the best time and I didn't have to clean up after all was said and done.

If you are looking to entertain a group of kids aged 1-12, then Chuck E. Cheese on 190 (between Brand Rd. and N. Garland Ave.) is your best bet. The littlest kids can climb in the tubes and ride on the cars. The older kids can play pinball, air hockey, video games or play in the tubes too. The Peter Piper Pizza in Firewheel Plaza does not have tubes or much for the toddlers. You can book a party package with Chuck E. Cheese (look online) or just order pizza and drinks for everyone and bring your own cake. (If you go that route then make sure you're not there at a peak weekend time). If you reserve a room somewhere like a rec center then you will need to plan activities and games that will appeal to all of the ages of your guests. Have you considered having the party at a park? As long as the weather is okay, kids can play on the playground equipment and you can bring sidewalk chalk, bubbles, sand toys, etc. You can bring your own food, or even have a cookout for the families. You could take some great outdoor photos and include a snapshot in each thank you note. Breckinridge Park would be great for this or so would Kid's Kingdom in Rowlett. There are lots and lots of nice parks in Garland too. Check the locations on a map and then drive by to check out their amenities. See http://www.garlandgis.com/imf/imf.jsp?site=garlandgisparks for park locations and details. Have fun!

Not sure where in Garland you live, but you can rent a room or even the gym at most of the Garland Rec Centers. Go to the City of Garland web site and look under Recreation for the different centers. I think a room is only $40, maybe $70 for the gym, but not sure. Gale Fields Recreation Center is new and very nice, although not in the nicest neighborhood. It is on Dairy Road, near Miller Road. Audubon Center is also good. There is Peter Piper Pizza and Chuck E. Cheese. I believe Build a Bear at Firewheel also does parties.

Here is what we did. We had one year olds all the way up to 9 years old, at my son's first birthday. We did it at Peter Piper Pizza at Firewheel plaza in Garland, near Firewheel Town Center. It is a new facility so it isn't dirty like some other eateries. You pay for the package you want and it comes with pizza, drinks, coins for all the kids and quite a few more coins for the birthday one! You also get a certificate for coupons so they can pick out a prize. There are little games and stuff like that and at the end of the day you don't have to clean up. You have your own personal hostess that gets you whatever you need and the table is already set up when you get there. We loved it and the hour and a half was the perfect time. Hope this helps.

Hi L., have you check the Arboretrum? They rent spaces.
I checked them when my son Lucas turned 1.
If not if it is in Spring I would recommend you doing it at a Park, next to a nice playground, were kids can have fun and parents can enjoy a nice day out.
I hope this help...

cheers,

Flor.
