A blue crayon got thrown down the laundry shoot and into the wash and dryer. I am getting it out of the dryer with heat and toothpaste(I read that on Mammasource, thanks) but can't remember how to get it out of clothes. Just last week I read on this site how to get stains out and I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help. It was a large load of light colored clothing. Everything from kids clothes to mine and my husbands clothes was in that load. I would appreciate any and all advice given. Thanks

What can I do next?

go to www.crayola.com then, click on for parents, then click on stain tips, this will tell you how to get virtually every crayola product out of nearly everything! Good Luck!

OK, so I did this with a whole pack of crayons - I through the whole load of laundry away. However, I do remember reading a few suggestions when looking up ways to clean the dryer. Some suggestions included rewashing the load in hot water or using a low heat iron and paper towel to absorb the wax. I have done the paper towel trick with candle wax on cloths. Just make sure you don't get the iron to hot. Place the paper towel over the crayon and lightly iron so that the wax melts into the paper towel. My husband just said that you should try WD-40. I don't know about that, though. Good luck!

Good Morning R., I don't remember all the hints either but I have put a cup of baking soda in with the laundry det. and it has removed crayon marks before.

Worth a try if the other mom's don't come up with the list.

first try dissolving efferdent on the spot or you can wash it by itself and put 2-3 efferdent tables in the machine. If that doesn't work, try the Magic Eraser by Mr. Clean. It is great for everything.I have used as many as 5 efferdent tablets for a full load. Efferedent is what people use for denture cleaning. Good luck

i had a friend that owned a candle shop. She helped me once get wax off my clothes by laying the wax side down on the iron board and placing a brown paper sack (or piece of) under the wax spot. Then we ironed the back of the shirt and the wax came off on the sack paper. Now... a spot still remained because it was dark red wax. i dont remember if i got the spot out eventually or not... but the iron did take the wax off. It should work with crayons the same way. It's worth a try anyway. :) Good luck.

Take some paper towels and put them on top of the crayon- then go over it with a hot iron. I have had crayon on clothes, carpet, bedding, etc. My mom spilled wax all over herself one day, too. This works every time!!

I actually had this happen recently with an orange crayon and looked for advice as well. I read several different ideas, which a lot of them seemed very time consuming. (Would have probably been worth it if the other option didn't work.)

I washed the clothes again in warm water, regular detergent and added vinegar to the cycle. Most of the stains came out in the first wash. There were only a couple of items that have "permanent" stains out of a HUGE load of laundry.

Good luck!

My kids did this a while back. I used a whole bottle of Goo B gone spray (orange gel I believe). I washed in hot water, extra detergent, pulled it out, redid any remaining spots, and washed again. Then used the goo b gone on inside of dryer by hand, then threw an old towel in there as hot as I could get it. I got the crayon out of the clothes, and the dryer, although it took a few times.
