Is there a way to map a route in maps.google.com, randmcnally.com, or some other map site, save the interactive page you've created, and then recall that same map at a later time?

Here is the situation.
Hubby just started a new service call based job. Each day he is given a list of addresses for his appointments. The list changes daily. It is NOT a set route. He starts his day by plotting all of the addresses on maps.google.com on his work laptop. He then arranges the addresses in a way so that the route is as time efficient as possible. When he heads to his truck, he has to turn off the laptop so that when he gets to his truck he can connect it to the truck power supply/wifi/some other contraption... the computer MUST be turned off. He tried to place it in just standby mode one day and learned the hard way, (i.e. laptop freaked out, got nothing done and coworkers laughed at him) that the computer MUST be turned off to connect the truck power supply.

Anyway, when he does get the laptop hooked up and turned back on, he no longer has the map of appointments that he just spent 20 mins arranging. So he came to me to find out if there was some step that he was missing? I've played with the maps.google site, and cannot see anything that would allow you to save the interactive map you just created. He says that it needs to be interactive because service calls come in during the day and adjustments need to be made to the route, etc. He needs the map view so that he can see where the new address is in relation to his current location/future locations.

So ladies, is there a way or a software to save the service route and keep it interactive for changes?

Many thanks!!!

What can I do next?

My husband suggest using googleearth.com or mapmyride.com

Both of these sites will do what he needs and can be saved.

You can just click on google maps, find your route and then email it to yourself. Then you just click the link and there it is.

If you have an account with Google, you can create a map and save locations and it will plot them for you. You can recall the map, but it will not allow you to use the plots to get driving directions. I have plotted the addresses, figured out the order of the visits, and then used my GPS for directions. Or you could manually type in the addresses as he goes to get directions. Hopefully there's a better option out there for him!

When he pulls up the directions, he can click a Link icon that will bring up a link he can copy & paste into the browser's address bar. Load that link & then he can bookmark it so he can pull it right back up!

I love Google :)

Yep, what Jo W. said.
Just e-mail it to yourself.

Create an account with mapquest.com (it's free). You can create a route and add to it or take away from it. You can save the different routes that you make and you can download them to a GPS.

There is an interesting website called multiplottr.com (I didn't spell that wrong, they spell "plotter" like "plottr". Have him check it out.
