We are having a hard time finding wheat and corn free products for my son. One or the other seems to be in EVERYTHING! He used to eat well but now he has wheat and corn allergies and isn't enjoying his options. Looking for a good tasting bread and chip. Anyone found anything that your family can actually enjoy eating? Thank you in advance for your help!

What can I do next?

Please keep in mind that most baked products are going to have either Corn Starch or Baking Powder (which contains Corn Starch) in them.

Also, please be aware that MALTODEXTRIN can be derived from either CORN or WHEAT!!! So watch for that on labels.

I have not found a rice cracker that I like which does not have corn starch in it. :-(

Good luck! I'll be watching this thread for all the suggestions.
(BTW, I have a "sensitivity" to wheat, corn, oats, barley and rye!)

They are selling these at Costco now: http://www.marysgonecrackers.com/your-products/crackers/o...

My kids really like them, and they are gluten-free and do not have corn in them, either. I know they make them in their own, dedicated factory, so you don't have to worry about cross-contamination. It's more of a cracker than a chip, but it's thin enough to satisfy the craving, maybe?

We just found this brand. My daughter currently cannot have any grains, dairy, soy or sugar. This brand has truly delicious potato chips that have simply potatoes, avocado oil and salt.

If you can get to a Whole Foods, they have allergy lists at their customer service desk, and they'll help you locate appropriate foods. I have even found that they will sometimes offer samples if you're not sure about the taste of a product.

Almond Thin crackers by Diamond Brands are great! Don't think they have corn. Everyone in our house eats them just bc they're good. I'm not sure if Udi's bread has any corn based ingredients but you could look as that's a good gluten free bread when toasted.

My son's girlfriend is allergic to wheat, corn, dairy and soy.
Can you imagine? Talk about challenging!
If you have a Trader Joes or Whole Foods near you go there. They have great rice based choices for pastas, chips, crackers, tortillas, cookies, etc.

I've purchased wheat and corn free chips and crackers in the health food section of Fred Meyers. If you don'T have Fred Meyer stores I suggest that you can find them in any grocery store that has a health focused section. These products are tasty. I haven'T found tasty bread at a supermarket.

Portland also has gluten free bakeries. Have you checked them out in your community? Their bread is good.

Most health food stores carry what you are looking for. I would check your area and find one near you. Or start making your own chips.

Glutino makes a great sandwich bread mix. You have to make it but it is super easy! Also, you don't have to buy an expensive mixer, I bought a 75 dollar Hamilton Beach stand mixer that works just fine. There are a lot of crappy tasting itms so I suggest looking and buying itms on sale.

Trader Joe's Crunchy Curls are tasty. They are lentil and potaro based. I know they are GF, not 100% on corn. TJ's in general has some great options for GF snacks!

Rudi's Gluten Free Bread, Udi's Gluten Free Bread, Crunchmaster crackers do not have corn or wheat, "Enjoy Life" brands are free of corn & wheat, Lay's potato chips are gluten free, go online to check their current list of products for allergens. Tinkyada rice pasta is my favorite and my family will eat it too.

Aldi has a gluten free line that just gets better and better. It's called "Live G Free." Their loaves of bread are excellent, and I use their baking mix for crepes and their brownie mix is FABULOUS (keep the baked brownies in the fridge and they get all chewy). The cornbread mix is better than any I've had.

I've found that none of the bread out there is like regular wheat bread. So, if I want a sandwich, I toast the bread first. It's WAY better that way. I keep it in the freezer and only toast what I need right then. Udi brand, which is found at many stores, is also good, but you have to toast the bread too. I have yet to find a wheat alternative tortilla wrap I like and just stick with corn. Sorry...I still eat corn because it's hard enough being gluten free!

I've had the Diamond brand almond crackers mentioned below and they are DELICIOUS. The cheese ones are my favorite.

Potato chips don't have any gluten in them. They're potatoes.
