A co worker of mine used one of the herbal wraps called the ultimate applicator not only did she detox, lose inches but also some of her stretch marks disappeared. I love these wraps. You can buy them a box of 4 online for retail or you can get wholesale. I also will sell you 1 for $25 if interested. Ck out www.kathysims.itworks.net for more info.

Pregnant? Want to avoid stretch marks? Use dermelastic serum. Rub on right after the shower while still wet. I gained >45 lbs. I credit this serum with 0 stretch marks. I have others from when I was younger, so I know I get them. I tried a bunch of other mommy oils and butters, but dermelastic was the best. It absorbs easily. You can even take it to use for the Non-stress test monitoring instead of the ultrasound gel. For the final month (when you start to feel your skin getting tight) I slathered this on, waited a few minutes and topped with a heavier pregnancy sunflower-based serum. Much thicker and greasier. This is the best for every-day.

None of them I tried kept my from getting stretch marks, but I used Palmers Cocoa-Butter Stretch Mark cream and it kept them from getting too bad and definitely kept them from itching. After both boys I used Bio-Oil and it made the ones I got fade pretty good.

I used Mederma. It didn't get rid of them but lightened the stretch mark/scar considerably. You can barely see them now.

I used 100% PURE shea butter. There are many different brands and I'm sure they're all pretty similar. It's really concentrated, so you only need a little. The jar isn't very big, but it goes a long way. It works for just about anything. I even used it on a scar I've had for years and it has faded away to nothing now.

Hey J.,

I can only tell you that you probably already know they are not preventable and that stretch marks are considered genetic, and that they do not occur with every pregnancy for the same woman.

With that said, there is also no real cure, lotion, etc. that will make them go away. As with diet pills those things that claim to work never do.

I can tell you that after surgeries for scars, some dermatologist will prescribed varying concentrations of Retin-A for scarring.

And this does work. You also must keep the area free from tanning. And then like everything else, time heals. Some people a few months, others a few years.

And by all means try some lotions but be cognizant that improvement you see will likely be the same as if you did nothing at all. Or, contact a dermatologist about scarring. I do hope yours fade soon.

I've been using Vitamin E Oil. I didn't really have stretch marks mine was more like darkness around my navel and people said it was like a stretch mark. I've been putting Vitamin E oil on it and it's almost gone. You can buy it by the bottle but if you can't find that you can buy the capsules and pop them. Hope it helps!

J.,

After my daughter had her baby, I bought her a body lotion by the name of "Prevent" sold at Earth Savers Spa in New Orleans. It worked like magic. They have a website earthsaversonline.com It is very affordable $20 for a nice size bottle.

Good luck and let me know how it works for you.

My husband is an RN and he suggested Mederma after my first child was born, but I couldn't stand the smell of it. I got worse stretch marks with my second child and attempted Mederma again, but... Ah well. However, my husband loves my body as it is, so I figure to not bother about my vanity and learn to accept my signs of successful child bearing. I don't say it's easy, but I'm certain I'll have more peace of mind if I'm not fretting over perceived bodily flaws. :)

You are looking for something that does not exist. Creams don't do anything for your body that your body isn't going to do naturally over time. Honestly the best thing to help stretch marks is exercise.

I even asked my plastic surgeon about options for stretch marks and he said there is nothing that can be done.
