They will ONLY take upscale. I had some Motherhood Maternity and they refused them.
Hi, Mamas! I'm nearing the end of pregnancy #3 and am thinking about what to do with some of my nicer maternity clothes. Has anyone used Second Child on Armitage for consignment? I don't think I'll have the time or desire to try and sell things on my own via Craigslist or eBay. I looked at the website, and it sounds like you just drop off your stuff and whatever they deem as unacceptable will be donated. For anything that can be sold within 3 months, you get 1/3 the selling price as a store credit. They also seem particular about only wanting upscale brands, but does Gap Maternity count? I've donated so much maternity, infant and children's clothing in very good condition and will continue to do so, but feel it would be nice to try and sell these nicer things. Thanks!

I would suggest selling them as a bulk lot on Craigslist...eBay charges a percentage. You are far more likely to get more bang for your buck if you list it on Craigslist. Take lots of pictures of the items and sell in bulk. You could separate it, tops, bottoms, nursing bras and tanks, etc. or just sell it in one big lot. It will take you less time than taking it to a shop and waiting for them to determine whether your clothes are "worthy" or not.
You may wish to try one of the schools clothing resales. You determine a price and give them the clothing they have the sale(if you put a certain color on it they lower the price by 1/2 the second day of the sale to get it sold). You then get a percentage of the price and they keep the other for their fundraiser. If it doesn't sell you can either leave it with them for donation or take it back and try another avenue. Many of them have one in spring and one in fall. usually a grade school pto
