My daughter is 2 yrs old and I had to put her in daycare last month. My problem is that a month 1/2 ago we started potty training her, took her about a week to get the whole thing. At home while she napped she never wet herself, now at daycare after two weeks she is starting to wet herself during nap almost everyday. I don't know what to do, I don't know if it's the daycare not taking her potty before her nap. The only thing I see I can do is buying her pull ups, which I don't want to backtrack but I don't see what other choice I have. What do ya think, has any one of ya gone thru this, please help!

What can I do next?

Okay...my daughter was also potty trained at 2. To be trained so young, they are smart. It could be that she is using this to manipulate the situation. She may not want to stay on her mat or sleep there. She gets 1 on 1 attention when she wets her pants. My daughter does something similar. She has her potty break right before nap but then says she has to go several times during nap...and she really does go! They have good bladder control, so even if she is going before nap, she could be saving some up for that 1 on 1 attention she wants. Just a thought!

congrats for her being potty trained at 2! One think to think is, is potty training and regular trips to the potty part of her class? Our day care has younger 2's and older 2's (those almost 3). They only take the older 2's to regular potty breaks, not the younger 2's. So talk with her teacher and find out what's the norm for her class. And you don't want to go backwards, so don't be afraid to insist she be taken to the potty b/4 nap. Good luck.

I would talk with her teacher. My son did better potty training at daycare! Make sure that they have a potty time right before nap. It is really important to have your child in a place that helps with potty training. At my son's school they actually work with them if the parents say it is ok. Good luck!!

She might be getting cold and/or not going potty before nap time.

We're not potty training yet, but I can tell you that my daughter is in daycare 3 days a week, and home the rest. The days she's at home, a 1 hour nap is a big deal, but 30-45 minutes is more likely. And it takes forever to get her down for her nap. But at daycare, she sleeps for 2-2.5 hours, and goes right to sleep. It amazes me, because daycare is noisier and there's always plenty to do!

That said, I wonder if maybe your daughter is sleeping more soundly during her naps at daycare, so that she doesn't notice the need to go potty? Maybe she's really tiring herself out with all of the activity at the center (and not necessarily in a bad way - she may just get more stimulation there).
