Hi All,
I am having a little trouble finding maternity clothes that fit, and don't cost an arm and a leg. I have a few pieces from when I was pregnant with my son, but I have gained a considerable amount of weight since I became a stay-at-home-mom, and I can't seem to find even maternity clothes that fit well, and especially not in Okinawa. I would love to shop online, but I have no idea where to begin. Are there any stores out there that sell plus size (16-18 and not a small fit, I'm sure I'll be in this size very soon, LOL) maternity clothes for a good price??? Please help!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am only about 2 weeks into my 3rd month, and my normal everday clothes are just not going to fit for much longer, LOL!!! Thanks in advance for any and all help. Have a blessed day!!!

So What Happened?

Wow!!!! I was really happy that I got so many responses from the wonderful ladies in this group, and so fast too. I was actually able to go on a small online shopping spree (LOL) the same day I posted the question because of all the help I got. I was very excited that I found some things in my size and at very reasonable prices. So, with that said, Thanks so much to all the great Mamasource Moms who sent a response to my question, you guys were truly a blessing!!!

eBay, eBay, eBay! OR, Japan Update is great too! If you post on the Misc Wanted you might be able to pick up some inexpensive items. I, too, live on Okinawa and if you need some help navigating eBay just drop me a line! Good luck!

Target.com and oldnavy.com both have cute, relatively cheap stuff (up to XXL in most cases) and ship to APO! Good luck!

Hi A., I don't know if it is womens size maternity clothing that you need. If so, Lanebryant.com or avenue.com both do womens (plus) size regular and maternity clothes. Avenue is my favourite place to shop, Lane Bryant is good too. Congratulations and good luck with clothes quest :)

The best places that I found for maternity clothes was Motherhood Maternity. While some of there clothes are a little expensive, i was able to get some well made and well fit clothes to use as my staples. Other places that have some good things are Kohls and Target.

There are some good places to look in Okinawa. The Elfin-Doll (rabbit store) has some good maternity clothes. Also the Birthday store in Awase area has a good selection. I found some good shirt in both of those stores and I as well am not small. They have some maternity/nursing shirts that worked great in public areas and especially on the airplanes. Contact me if you have any more questions. webbgraphix at gmail.com is my email address.

Also do you have a website or somewhere to see the hair bows. I have a little girl with no bows for her hair.

Old Navy, Target, Walmart, and Kmart are all good sites. I would also check ebay. Sometimes on ebay people sell them as "lots" where there are more than one piece.

Good luck!

Hello,

First of all, Congrats on the new pregnancy...I know it can be hard on the wallet whn it comes to pregnancy wear, esp. overseas. I am now pregnant with our FOURTH son and we live in Germany---but have managed to be able to wear the same pregnancy clothes until this one. I have had to buy bigger size. I usually try to find everything ON SALE at the PX or...

Couple of suggestions, if you have family back in the states, please use them!! My aunt lives in Dallas, TX, so she goes all the time to the Thrift Stores and buys cheap, but almost brand new clothing...

I shop online through e-bay, old navy, and I believe motherhood.com also has plus sizes..check though if they send APO...if not I just send to my aunt and then she sends it to me....(that's the way I do it)--if they dont send APO

Check local newspapers, thrift stores (if have), and/or request any (make an ad in the Stars and Stripes)...

Hopefully, this information helps out a little bit.

GOOD LUCK!!

Hi A.! The best places that I found for plus-size maternity clothes were JCPenneys, Motherhood, Lane Bryant, and Fashion Bug--they all are online. Sometimes you can get some good prices on sale. Unfortuantely, they are not very many places that sell plus-size maternity--so the prices are a little more expensive then "normal" sizes. You can also try e-bay eventhough you can't return if the items don't fit. I had the best of luck with JCPenneys. Hope this helps with the search! Good luck!

Ok this place I don't think carries the clothes I'm talking about on line. They have an on-line store but not everything is on there. I just got a bunch of shirts from Layne Bryant. They carry a line of shirts that are stretchy and they carry them in a lot of colors and a lot of different styles. They never fade and always go back to the origional shape so they are awesome and fit all the way up to the last days and then can easily be used after the baby has come because they go back to the origional shape no matter how big you get and how far they have to stretch. It isn't their maternity line. That stuff was expensive and wasn't nearly as cute as the shirts I'm talking about. The shirts I bought were $14.99 - $19.99 They sometimes run deals so you might be able to get them better.
