I am having a second child this summer, and I am having trouble finding a good, comfortable double stroller. I look at the ratings from others on websites and so many say too heavy or hard to steer. Anyone know of a good double stroller?

I love the Sit N Stand. I used it when I was watching my nephew along with my son. I thought it was easy to use..not too heavy and it holds most infant seats. There's also a super sit n stand that has a second seat and a bench.

I have the sit and stand deluxe stroller from One step ahead. com. Its made by baby trend but thats the only place I've been able to find it at. It's great, really lightweight and easy to store. It's smaller than my graco when folded down. The baby seat fits onto the front seat and the toddler would ride in the back. The only problem is there isn't much storage. And my 2 year old is really big for his age so the storage is used for extra leg room for him. It also coverts to the sit and stand for when the older child outgrows the stroller. Its easy to steer; it did take some time to realize how to manuvuer around but not bad in the end. I also have a jeep side by side double stroller. Cheaper and very light weight, only problem is you have to lay the baby in it, the car seat doesn't attach.

Hi J.,
I have 21 month old twins and we had gotten the duoglider deluxe from Graco before they were born. The stroller is the front/back kind and we love it. It's easy to unfold and fold up, the basket is great underneath and it's designed to hold infant car seats too. So we used it right from birth with the car seats in it and now the boys just sit in it. You could have the car seat in it with the new baby and your older daughter can sit in the other seat. You can get it with or without 1 infant snugride carseat. It is not the lightest one available but it steers really good and is very durable. We also have a side by side Chicco umbrella style stroller, but it's so hard to get through doors and crowded areas. I prefer my Graco any day! Hope this helps!

I have a double stroller like this. I have the older version but I love it and so do my kids. They take turns on where to sit sometimes, although it is harder to turn if the older one sits in the front. It folds up really well too. We took this to Florida and used it in the airport and everything. It is great. My son has found a few ways to sit on the back seat. He can sit forward or face backwards or he can stand. I love it. Here is a link: http://www.leapsandbounds.com/catalog/product.jsp?product... If it doesn't work, the stroller is on Leapsandbounds.com and it is a sit and stand stroller.

I love my phil & teds (http://www.philandteds.com/nz/sportdouble_07_1.htm). It weighs 24 lbs , maneuvers wonderfully. The baby can lay completely flat. It fits in the back of my SUV with all three rows of seats up (Big plus).

It is pricey. You buy the basic stroller and then you have to get the doubles kit for the second seat. Some places will sell them together.

Have fun shopping!

I use the Peg Perego Aria Twin. It is a side-by-side and is VERY lightweight. I used it when our youngest was about 6 months old and I used it last summer when my sons were 2 and 4 years-old and was still able to push it just fine. It handles corners well and was not awkward at all. It is easy to close and open and you can do it with one hand. It is pricey, but I got ours on Ebay and saved a lot. I have also seen them on Craigs List. Good Luck.

I also have a Maclaren twin stroller and love it. I have owned and borrowed numerous other double strollers, but I purchased this Maclaren in mint condition from ebay and managed to save quite a bit. It is easy to handle and I am tall so the higher upright handles are great. My children are 2 1/2 years apart and I purchased it after my second was born. It has been a savior on everything from a trip to the mall to Disney World since it folds compactly, fits in my trunk and can also easily get through the airport security system. We traveled internationally last year when my son was 4 and daughter 1 1/2 and we took them through every airport quite easily and even some tight doorways in Europe. My son is getting a little heavy for me to maneuver it as easily now (he is 5 and over 42lbs, but still sits comfortably). I still use it when he ends up falling asleep and when he was a little younger I swore by it for that.

I am a mother of twins that are 10 months old now. When they were born I bought a Graco brand stroller. The only difficulty I had with it is that my newborn that sat in the front had to be "propped" with every blanket and pillow that I owned. The back seat is the only one that goes down to a full laying position. Now that they're older it's not a problem. Your 22 month would have no problem. It is a little heavy, but it's nothing that I can't handle. I love the sturdiness if it. It has a lot of room for storage underneat and I typically sling the diaper bag onto the handle and even with all that weight, it doesn't budge.

I have a maclaren, pricey but I like it. I went to the mall one day and stopped everyone with a double stroller to see if they liked it and most people with the maclaren did, so I bought it. It folds pretty small for a double stroller and works like an umbrella but the seats have a sturdier back and they recline for sleeping children. Hope this helps!

I use the one step ahead deluxe double for my 3 yr old daughter and 6 month old son. I love it! it was one of the only ones that has a snap bar in front for infant car seat that just comes off when you don't need it and the back seat also becomes a bench when the older child want it. I wanted to be able to just snap my son in and couldn't find a double stroller that had that option so I was thrilled when I fould this. They face each other two which both of my kids like. It has a basket underneath that holds alot but my daughters feet are there so I have to put stuff back father so she doesn't step on it. If we use the bench thats not an issue. Only thing that bothers me about it. I use a diaper bag that snaps onto the handle and it make it fine to just put little stuff underneath. It has town cup holders, key and cell phone holder that snaps shut and two shades. Like I said we love it!! Good luck

Im sending you two links for the best double strollers that are manageable and not HUGE! The first one is more expensive, but its really cool and comes in many colors and everything is attachable/detachable for different stages.
http://www.babybungalow.com/nephandtespf4.html

The next one you can get at Target for $129, which is cheap for a double stroller. Its light and easy to fold.

I have heard that the sit and stand stroller is really good and it is not that heavy. I am not sure of the brand but I am going to get one as soon as I find out we are having another one. My friend loves hers.

I have an Inglesina Twin Swift that I love.

http://www.babyage.com/products/1775a_inglesina_inglesina...

It's 29" wide so it fits through standard doors and it's a breeze to steer. It's not the lightest stroller out there (about 22lbs) but it folds umbrella style, both sides recline independently and have 5 point harnesses. I've had mine for 2 years, my kids are almost 4 and 2 1/2 and I still use the stroller.

Good Luck!

We like our Jeep double stroller and it only cost $80!! ($70 after $10 coupon on BabiesRUs). The one and only thing I don't like about it is the canopies tend to pop off when you fold it up. It's light and fits nicely through doorways. Now, I don't know how long it will last as we've only had it for a few months.

I am what I like to call a "stroller collector" lol I have been through a few doubles. I have an Eddie Bauer tandem, but it is really heavy and harder to steer than its competitor, Graco Duo Glider. I also have a Chicco side by side. I prefer the front to back style, it has the snack trays, the infant seat clicks in, and its much easier to fit down rows of clothes and things that are not on the aisle. I am currently expecting my 3rd and bought the Graco Quattro Tour Duo. I tried my 3 1/2 year old and my 2 year old in it and the seats are nice and big and its MUCH easier to steer then my Eddie Bauer. I can tell I will be able to get enough time out of it since my son is 2 and my 3 1/3 year old fits! Good luck!

My sister loves her Joovy Caboose "sit-n-stand". While she says it is a bit heavy, she sees it more as sturdy. Her daughter loves to sit on the back, or walk beside it (and be a "big girl") and was about the same age as your daughter when she got it. In addition, it fits most "carrier" systems because of a universal bar that fits on the front, which you can strap your carrier to.
I have the Combi side-by-side. I crammed my Graco carrier on to it for a while, then eventually just had to put my son in the stroller sans his carrier. While it is light weight and folds pretty compactly, the world definitely is not "side-by-side" friendly! Store isles are too skinny, people don't get out of your way, the kids are too close to each other and can grab each other's food, etc. . . . Hindsight is 20/20 and I would've gotten the Joovy too!
I hope this helps. Sorry for the loooonnnnnggg response!!

Hi! I am in the same position but have noticed as time goes on that my son (a little over 2) hardly ever sits in the stroller anymore. He was, however, very interested in the stroller/standup combo. It has a seat in the front where one kid sits or you can clip an infant seat to and the back has a spot for an older child to stand or sit on a little bench. He really liked it, so I am getting that instead. It is really lightweight like an umbrella stroller and folds up easily (a must with 2 little ones). Good luck!

Hi J.,

I have the Maclaren Twin Triumph and love it. The handle bars are the perfect height and the stroller is pretty lightweight.
I used it all summer for my 6 mos old and 2 year old (at the time). I found it easy to push. The seats were side by side which I loved and the stroller was very compact - only a tad wider than my single all in one stroller. Maclarens are a bit pricey though - that is the only drawback; mine was a gift.
This particular stroller had no cup holders, but I'm sure they make some that do. There were two baskets underneath that are sufficient for a few smaller items -wipes, couple diapers, water bottle maybe. Hope this helps and good luck!

I recently had kid #3 and needed a new stroller...I picked a sit and stand by Baby Trend. It wasn't as expensive as most double strollers I saw. You can get it with 2 stroller-type seats and the rear seat comes out and you have a bench. I like it because my son (2 1/2) faces the other way from the baby and he has his own big boy bench...no too babyish for him to sit on. :)

The other think I like about it, is that the baby carseat snaps right into the front seat. I already had a baby carseat and I didn't want to buy a "system". I think you can find the basic model for around 120.00 online. The souped up versions cost 160.00 or so, so it was one of the more reasonable doubles.

IT folds nicely to fit in the back of my van. Good luck with your decision. I looked all over the place for a double stroller that would work for us, without a huge price tag.

Try visiting www.jpma.org and look under their certified product listing. There are links to companies who have certified strollers, some of them being double. You might find what you are looking for.

My kids are 20 months apart and we just got the new Graco Quattro Duo double stroller. Here is a link to our exact model:

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2582521

We love it for a toddler and newborn. It folds smaller than the DuoGlider and is really easy to steer. If you don't like that pattern, you can check out the gracobaby.com site for other patterns and where to buy. I highly recommend this stroller.
