Need a Good Dentist for Kids

This is the first message I have felt compelled to respond to so far...I have been going to Dr. Katherine Eslao on Lyon Street in SF for many years and brought my almost 2-year-old daughter there for her first dental experience...she was great...not known as a "children's" dentist, but super competent and does great work and I have never felt over-charged there, even though their building occupies one of the most beautiful spots in the city!!

Dr. David L. Rothman! He splits his time between two offices...one on Union St. and one on Ocean Ave. My son has notoriously been scared of many things, more than other kids his age. He always freaked out going for his yearly checkup with his pediatrician. I had great concerns about bringing him to his first dental checkup. I actually waited until he was a little older than what the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends. I took him to his first dental checkup when he was 3-1/2 and for me and him, I'm glad I did. Between how great Dr. Rothman and his staff was combined with my son being a little older, the first checkup went extremely well. As a matter of fact, as soon as we left he asked me when his next dental checkup was and was very disappointed to hear he had to wait 6 months. He exclaimed, "I love going to the dentist!" To this day, he loves going to the dentist.

I also heard that Dr. Ann Azama at Kidsmiles Pediatric Dentistry is also very good. I highly recommend visiting and doing a consultation.

Dr. Bergen James is awesome...I think she's located on Spruce or Locust...by CPMC. I'm a dental hygienist and we refer all of our little one's there, the parent's love her!

i can highly recommend my dentist Dr. Phyllis Chen, she is a mamma to 2 small children herself and fantastic! VERY very gentle and her staff is excellent as well - her office Misson Terrace Dental is located right off the MUNI stop (J-Church) on 1794 San Jose Ave in case you'd like to leave the car at home.

I really like Dr. Dorothy Pang's office. My daughter went for her first dentist appointment at about 20 months and they were just great with her! The office is always bustling with kids and all the parents seem to be very happy with her.

They just moved offices (they used to be located on 19th Ave.), but they are in SF. Here's their number: ###-###-####.
